It had been a month since the Candy Kingdom ambassador arrived, and to my relief, the Bloodhounds—vampires skilled in stealth magic—had not noticed anything out of the ordinary. Surprisingly, I found myself enjoying the company of these seemingly simple candy people during several dinners, despite revealing my undead nature to them.
Candy Corn proved to be an interesting individual, displaying skill in various administrative tasks. He had previously managed a small town of candy people before being called upon by the princess to act as a delegate.
Mrs. PopRock and her young student, SourPatch, were also delightful to get to know. SourPatch was eager to learn the art of baking from Mrs. PopRock, and his skills showed promise, especially considering the delicious cake he had baked for me.
Lastly, there were Mr. and Mrs. Poptart, a lovely couple sent to discuss possible trade agreements. Although they initially seemed charming, Emma's subordinate worked out the specifics of the trade, ensuring a fair deal for us.
As for the Banana Guards, they began to receive challenges from my people, and surprisingly, they accepted. Watching their fights, I was shocked by their skill with the spears they constantly wielded, coming remarkably close to besting some of my own people.
"I wish I had tried to level up more," I thought, feeling a pang of regret as I sat upon my throne, flipping through a book on nature magic. Despite this, I closed the book and waved my hand, summoning a small floral pattern on the floor—a new line of magic I intended to master.
While I hadn't leveled up significantly, I had grown stronger, mastering my first three branches of magic and acquiring dozens more. With my utility now at insane levels, I no longer needed maids or servants. Instead, I summoned ghost-like creatures to clean up, thanks to the conjuration skills I had acquired years ago.
"Come out, I know you're there," I said lazily, glancing up to where a vampire in pitch-black clothes hung from the ceiling. Upon realizing I had noticed them, they gracefully descended to kneel before me.
"My king, we noticed something peculiar about the ambassador leader," the vampire began, sparking my immediate interest. With little patience, I urged them to continue, and they complied.
"Well, sir, we observed him interacting with the citizens, and everything seemed normal until we asked questions outside of their specialties. The most obvious example is the Banana Guards, who seem to know nothing beyond their duties except for fighting," the vampire explained. This revelation heightened my attention, and I proceeded to question the vampire more thoroughly.
As we delved deeper into the matter, a theory began to take shape in my mind. It seemed plausible that Princess Bubblegum had designed the candy people to excel in whatever role she had created them for.
"You may go Thank you" I said dismissing the vampire who left quickly leaving me to my thoughts
