Capitolo 5: Chapter 5
Jade rang the doorbell of her family's mansion, and a butler invited her in almost immediately. After thanking the butler, Jade headed upstairs to her mom's study and, as expected, found her mom working on paperwork there.
"Mom..." she said hesitantly, suddenly scared that her mom would react similarly to Nell.
"Jade, why are you here?" her mom's cold voice responded slowly as she turned to look at her daughter.
"I.. Mom, I'm.. pregnant.. and Nell is forcing me to get an abortion even though I don't want to," Jade explained, "I can't live with him anymore, knowing that he is willing to hurt me like this. Can I stay at home for some time, please?"
As Jade spoke, her mom's expression darkened more and more.
"So..." she began, "you're pregnant with another man's baby and you find it unreasonable for your boyfriend to want you to abort it?"
Jade's face paled as she realized this conversation was heading in the same direction as the one she had with Nell earlier. She grabbed onto her mom as she desperately emptied out all of her emotions.
"Mom, can you at least listen to me? I know that it's wrong for me to sleep with another man but I didn't want it either! He forced me to sleep with him and I don't even remember who he was. I've been going to a psychologist for weeks to forget what happened that night and to come to terms with the fact that I will have a baby soon, so please don't say that all my efforts were useless!" At this point, tears were streaming down Jade's face.
However, Gemma was unmoved.
"Abort the baby and go back to Nell or I disown you, make your decision now."
