Capitolo 7: Chapter 7

In the back seat of the car,

Nolan Harrington wore a serious expression. He took off my shoe and placed my foot on his leg.

"Weren't you on a business trip? Why are you back?"

"The job ended early. I saw in the group chat that you went to Oscar Sterling's engagement party."

I knew about that group chat in their circle.

During Oscar's Three-year fake death, he often posted about his blissful life there.

I glanced at Nolan's clothes—it was still the outfit from the video call that morning.

Knowing him, he'd normally change after landing.

So he must've come straight here without even going home.

"I was tricked by Zara Lockhart. Sylvie Lockhart's her cousin."

Looking at Nolan, I explained everything from start to finish.

This man might not say much, but he thinks plenty.

"I don't go back to what I've left. Oscar Sterling and I ended Three years ago. I'm not crashing any weddings."

Nolan said nothing.

He took me to the hospital for an X-ray.
