I’ve read another novel that is similar and has a lot of specific events that are almost direct copies. Everyone is braindead so the dull author can make the MC look smart. The author isn’t creative enough to come up with anything entertaining, so he resorts to cheap drama. One of the MCs senior brothers betrays and joins the demon sect while eveyone involved still hopes for him to return. The MCs family are silenced by a secret organisation tied to one of the three big powers, which he investigates later. The talented disciple of the sect leaders friend ridiculously manages to escape the slaughter of his sect and reach the MCs sect, then the MC heals him which enhances his talent. One of the MCs junior disciples is the son of the emperors brother, who is one of the strongest and influential in the kingdom. He’s obsessed with becoming a strong swordsman for some reason, but rejects all opportunities to learn until seeing the MCs techniques. The MC ends up basically taking him as a disciple even though the MC and sect leader are aware of numerous open and hidden conflicts the sect has/will have with the royal family. The lover of one of the senior brothers is the daughter of a vice sect leader of the demon sect. They met when he accidentally sees her naked and she chases after him half heartedly. This daughter has zero responsibilities or attachment to the demon sect, but has full knowlege of everything in the sect and full use of their resources. The mother seems to want her to be the saintess, but conveniently seems to be oblivious to the fact the daughter has no attachment, is completely incompatible with sect and achieved none of the necessary merit.
Regarded author must not realise that this makes zero sense. If the vice leader cared about her, she would know her traitorous personality. If she doesn’t pay attention to her, why would she keep her informed of all of the demon sects secrets.
