Beginners almost always subconsciously follow the principles of not letting your opponent predict your next move by not knowing your own next move.

In this fashion, it suddenly becomes much harder for a semi-experinced person to win against a beginner. This way, the main advantage of a semi-experinced person, their knowledge of the sport/game, actually hurts them.
