章 8: Chapter 7: Letters
"Good Night Hikaru! See you tomorrow!" Ai said as she left Hikaru's room. It was 7:48 currently and she needed to go to her room before 8 o'clock.
"Bye." Hikaru said as he closed the door.
'Now time to get some work done.' Hikaru thought as he picked up the earring lying on his table.
It looked like a normal silver earring with an amethyst in the midst of it. But in reality, it was actually a Generalized CAD which had been heavily modified by Autumn Corps. Currently, it could only store up to 33 Activation Sequences due to its small size and has been named lilac.
'Kioku.' Hikaru said as thousands of particles of light of various colours appeared around him before disappearing quickly.
What Hikaru had used just now is the Spirit-Based Magic, Kioku. This magic was developed by Hikaru when he was 9 years old and prior to the incident. Generally, every piece of equipment has a Psion sensor which alerts them if any psion has interfered with their eidos. In that case, the authorities will be alerted and that isn't what Hikaru wants.
That's why Hikaru used Spirit-Based magic which utilizes Pushions instead of psions. Equipments normally don't have a Pushion sensor installed in them as it would needlessly increase the cost of the device and Spirit-Based Magicians are quite rare. Though interfering with the eidos of any device like a CCTV camera too much would still alert the authorities, but that isn't the purpose of the Spirit-Magic Examine anyway. [A/N-Do you want me to make a chapter explaining about psions, pushions and eidos in a simple manner or will you guys browse the wiki?]
Kioku is a Spirit-Based magic developed by Akiyama Hikaru in the year 2088. This Magic Sequence is capable of analyzing everything in a 1000 square kilometre area around the caster which is approximately 50 percent of the total area covered by Tokyo. Simply speaking, Hikaru has completely scanned the Advanced Nurturing Highschool campus which takes 600 square kilometres of land approximately. Kioku imprints the 3-D model of the analyzed landscape it created into the casters head as a memory, thus not harming the caster at all.
"Hmm alright. Now that I know which places are under CCTV surveillance and which places are not, it will be easier for me to act in the future." Hikaru said as he laid down on his bed and started looking at the 3-D map inside his head.
[Meanwhile with Ai]
"Oh? What are you guys doing here?" Ai asked Mei and Kikyo who were standing in front of her room.
"You are here Hayasaka-san! We have been waiting for you!"
"Eh? Why?"
"We were planning to have dinner together if you don't mind. Food always works after all!"
"Well I don't mind that, but I just had dinner a few minutes ago. But why are we talking here? Come inside!" Ai said as she pushed the other two into her room before closing the door.
[Morning, Hikaru POV]
"*Yawn!* What time is it?" Hikaru yawned as he woke up.
"7:15 Am, huh." Hikaru said as he got up from his bed and walked into the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for the day.
It was a sunny day, the sun was shining brightly and there weren't many clouds, so the clear blue sky could be seen clearly by the naked eye.
After Hikaru walked out of the bathroom, he tidied his bed before changing into his school uniform and walked out of his room.
"Thank you for your patronage!" The cashier said as Hikaru walked out of the convenience store with a croissant in his hand which will serve as his breakfast.
'I'll earn some points today I guess. I'll need to talk to sensei before that though.'
"Oh?" Hikaru looked at his student ID as he finally received the information regarding the S-System and the midterm papers from Fuka.
"Heh, this is quite interesting." Hikaru said as he walked towards the main school building while reading the file Fuka had given him as he unconsciously smiled a little while looking at one particular paragraph
"In case any students have faced any kind of injustice while inside the school campus, He/She may file a complaint against the accused to the school. The accused and the victim will face a trial and in case the accused is guilty, the victim may demand any reasonable compensation from the accused including personal points or even class points from the accused's class."
"This is gonna be fun." Hikaru said as he looked at the video of the skirmish yesterday which he had recorded using his Student ID.
"Good Morning Akiyama-Kun!" A girl said to Hikaru as he entered the classroom.
"Ah, good morning Kushida-san." Hikaru replied as he looked at Kikyo who was standing in front of him.
"You are going to be surprised in a few minutes Akiyama-Kun." Kikyo said while laughing a little.
"Why is that?" Hikaru asked Kikyo, genuinely confused.
"Why don't you go to your desk?" Kikyo said as Hikaru walked towards his desk.
"...."
"Oh, hey Hikaru!" Ai said as she entered the classroom and approached Hikaru.
"What are you doing?" Ai asked Hikaru who kept staring at his desk.
"Hmm? What are you looki-" Ai said as she looked at Hikaru's desk, but before she could complete her sentence, she was rendered speechless by the two letters placed on top of Hikaru's desk.
"Are these love letters?" Ai asked Hikaru who picked them up.
"..." Hikaru didn't reply as he simply put the letters in his pocket.
"Hey, I wanted to look at its contents!"
"Later." Hikaru said as he sat down on his desk.
"Sheesh, alright." Ai said as she walked towards Kikyo and Mei who were talking with some other girls.
'What the heck was that for?' Hikaru thought as he looked at the words written behind the letters.
"I loved the strawberry tart."
"Everyone, take your seats. We will be starting homeroom now." Sae said as she walked into the classroom.
