章 96: It's No Bother

To get through the acute torture that was interacting with Bryce, Jenna tried a few different methods. Keeping her distance hadn't worked. Neither had only sticking to small talk because he looked at her so expectantly after trying to engage in deeper conversation that her resolve shattered in an instant. 

There was only one other thing she could do. Her last line of defense. 

She really hadn't wanted to do that because she knew it would hurt more later but it would also potentially get her through the now. Essentially, she had to give up and give in to his attempts to be friendly and enjoy the ride. 

She was a different person right now so even though she couldn't be his lover, she could be his friend. It was only for another two and a half weeks.
