章 29: Fólkvangr Part2.
Sound only made its way back to the room after the goddess of love disappeared, gradually returning as her heel clacks faded away. Her crowd presence was scary.
The party returned to normal. Although some were still curious about the supposed magic item and its maker, none were willing to anger Freya by acting out at the party.
''Yer doing good Hephaestus. Was it this hunk that made the item. Huh?'' Said a red-haired and-eyed female drawing close to us. She cranked her head to look at me.
[Loki-lvl?]
She wore a red dress, drizzled with ornaments and decoration. Too bad her chest, flat as a washboard, ruined the whole thing altogether.
''Yer rude, ain't ya? You just thought something rude, didn't ya?'' She said with closed eyes.
Loki, the goddess of mischief and trickery. The catalyst of Ragnarok, father of Hel, Fenrir and World serpent Jörmungand. It was hard to relate them together when the Loki of this world was a flat red-haired woman. She at least carried his pain-in-the-ass behavior and his wit, yet has actual love for her children.
She narrowed her eyes, opening them fully this time looking deep into me.
It was a weird feeling for sure, but I stood my ground.
''Yer interesting.'' She grinned. ''How bout we switch children Hephaestus?'' She said prompting up the escort that came with her this evening.

''W-what are you saying Loki-Sama?'' The black-haired cat-kin looked very much in distress for her part. She had a weird frilly dress, no doubt some shit Loki had to do with. When in doubt, blame Loki.
Hephie didn't look that amused by that. She got a bit defensive at that too.
Loki was clearly joking, but it seemed the other two couldn't register it. It wasn't that hard to figure out with my skills working together.
The goddess of mischief and trickery noticed me looking at them for a moment and just grinned further.
I facepalmed mentally 'This is why I didn't want to get involved with her. Her mind games are too strong.'
She continued being her usual annoying self, but this time not giving out free information. She just tsek and got on her way after a while of I and Hephie just responding half-heartedly. Her escort looked slightly apologetic, bowed for the two of us, and headed out along her.
''How do you keep doing this?'' Asked Hephie elbowing me lightly on the ribs.
''What do you mean?'' I said not feeling hurt.
She didn't respond, and I just let her be. No need to poke a hornet's nest.

I was having some casual talk with Hephie. All the lights went out for a second, then the halls lit up and a music band came up to the middle and started playing some tunes.
It was the most entrancing music I have ever listened to, it had a classic feeling yet urged the listener to start moving at the same time. Some magic must have been involved.
As if agreeing beforehand, the party residences all formed a circle and started dancing with their partners.
We practiced a bit of dancing before the party. I was no professional waltz dancer, but I would not embarrass myself at least.
The center of the circle was already writhing full of gods with their partners.
Hephie and I decided to just go to the balcony and have our moment there instead of inside. We slowly escaped and slipped out of view.
The balcony was dimly lit, and the atmosphere was calm and soothing.
I looked at the stunning woman in front of me, her crimson eyes met my blue eyes. I took her hand ''Would you like a dance with me?'' She nodded, smiled with slightly reddened cheeks, and took my own free hand ''Of course I do.''
We started slowly, with her leading me on. I simply retraced her steps back and forth for a while, the rhythm was slow and steady. As the music started to pick up, I started to lead the dance.
I hugged her by the waist, brought her close to me, and spun her around. She got back into my embrace, we separated before coming close yet again. We smiled lovingly at each other.
We continued passionately dancing, putting all of our emotions into it. I lifted her with wind magic five feet above the ground, she was as light a feather. She spun in the air before dropping into my hands.
We shared a simple kiss as she huddled into my chest. Our chests heaved in a rhythmic beat together. This was love.
We sat there simply huddled together looking at the stars. ''I love you.'' I looked at her.'' I love you too.'' She said back.
There was nothing left to be said, we drifted into comfortable silence. She decided to go get some refreshments.
It was at that moment that a certain goddess of love decided to come out of her corner. ''You really do love her.'' She said with a pained voice hidden behind her flirtatious smile.
I suppose such things came naturally to a love goddess.
She came close to me and laid her hands on the railings ''You know, right?'' We both just looked at the horizon.
''So you also think I'm some sort of prostitute going around seducing people?''
I paused for a few seconds ''Not really Lady Freya. Blaming a goddess of love for loving is akin to blaming a bird for flying.''
She moved a bit closer to me. ''Is that so?'' She said slightly surprised. ''Just call me Freya. I didn't get your name before.''
I just looked at her stunned, and she just giggled. Those sounds were like soft bell rings ''Ken, my name's Ken.''
''How about you tell me more about yourself? Like how you can resist my charms?'' She said straight-forwardly, with some eagerness. Her eyes lighting up for a moment.
''I guess that must be something new to you? You know, someone not falling into your charms.'' I said with a slightly mocking tone.
The response that I got was just a happy smile coupled with a nod.
She was making it really hard for me to hate her.
I grabbed my nosebridge, and sighed ''Look Freya. I'm not against you, in fact I'm with you.'' She just listened ''But I'm not the one.''
''I can accept you, but I would never love you for who you are. You deserve better than that.''
''What do you know about me?! Do you even know how long I waited?'' She said with an agitated voice.
''I don't Freya, I don't. What I do know is that even If you decided to release your divinity, kill me and tamper with my soul, that wouldn't amount to anything.''
''I wouldn't do that!!'' She said in a hurt voice.
''How about we first become friends Freya? I think I would make a good friend.'' I put my hand forward.
She looked stunned at me for a few seconds, then laughed for a bit ''Ok, deal. But that won't stay for long.'' She sensually took my hand.
She went off with giggles.
