章 8: Dio's Development- Stamps of Approval

After many years passing between the two boys, about seven years estimated, George learned many things.
As his son Johnny hit twenty-one years old, he started to notice a change in his boys' behavior, specifically George's adopted son Dio.
Dio was a very abnormal boy in his opinion, the things which made him very unique were Dio's high intelligence, special fighting skills (Boxing), and temperament. The boy excelled at everything and showed kindness to his adopted brother Johnny despite his disabilities.
When Dio turned twenty-one, however, he started to show a new level of generosity to Johnny which even surprised George himself. The boy would offer to cook his food, clean his clothes, and would do the same treatment, if not better, for his father George.
George was feeling very glad that Dio was his son, and that he could fit in with the family. Everyone started to like Dio's company as he brightened any room with his charming smiles.
The only one to feel discomfort towards Dio was the dog Danny, but unfortunately, Danny passed away due to a strange heart attack many years ago. Still, Dio showed that he can fill the gap left by Danny by being a ray of sunshine and joy to George.
Of course, George does not know the true intentions behind Dio, unlike Dio, who knows every bit of George Joestar's personality after spending almost a decade living with him.

Dio was at first unimpressed by Johnny, Dio even had a plan to wear down his spirit through psychological torment. For instance, he was planning on beating him, insulting him, or just stealing his stuff.
He changed his mind when he noticed the naivety of the Joestar household. Johnny Joestar was a big mystery to Dio even today, but what Dio could understand was George Joestar. George was a man who was naivety personified.
Dio learned that even if Johnny was made to look like the trashiest disabled shithead to others, his father would still consider him equals to Dio. The same can be said the other way around. This is the reason why Dio has changed his approach to show that he is a loving family member.
The first person Dio wanted to eliminate was George through a deadly poison that he used on his father. He made sure that the evidence to him was nearly untraceable and the poison would work slowly over time. Dio must be the one to do it, to make sure the job is done correctly.
After George was killed, an investigation would take too much time to form before unfortunate Johnny had an accident near a staircase. By this time most would put Dio as one of the prime suspects of the murders by default.
However, this is where Dio's real plan comes in. He planned to make himself a target of the unfortunate "accidents" himself to show that there was an assassin that is targeting the Joestar family.
The whole town also knows how close Dio is to the family, and the talents Dio "Joestar" has in studying. The town would never suspect someone who was also targeted by an assassin, especially Dio who is known for his loving personality to his family and townspeople.
Finally, the assassin would reveal themselves to Dio in the public eye of everyone and get killed by the police. This would be the final touches to Dio's plan to completely inherit the Joestar family.
Now, some might ask, "How would this fake assassin conveniently announce themselves when they were not the real killers?"
This was because Dio also worked on a technique that he was developing during his time practicing the Spin. It activated on touch, then a vocal command, and finally, complete eye contact
This technique was pseudo hypnosis that worked to influence the mind. It would stamp any emotion/influence into the personality of someone, loyalty was the favorite stamp Dio used.
He also knew that over time, the more stamps he used on someone, the crazier they would become towards their loyalty. One example was when he stamped "love me" onto a girl over five times which led her to go beyond a simple yandere.
Dio had to kill her to keep his identity safe in the end after testing his stamps on her. The problem with his stamps was that people with a high will were very hard to influence due to his low level in using them.
In the end, this technique was a form of forcing an influential command on someone weak-willed, but that was it for now. Dio would continue using this technique, calling it "Optic Stamps" because it needed eye contact most of all to activate.
Another change Dio noticed overtime was the automatic changes happening to Jonathan's Will. Still, he can see it was just adjusting to fit him better by his estimates. It seemed that kindness did not mix anywhere with Dio, so it started to dissipate over time similar to adaptation.
Dio also managed to become more proficient in using Open Status. He was able to limit certain text boxes which he already read, or increase their sizes if he wanted.
The best part was he could add certain things like techniques into the Open Status screen which would be measured on their mastery. For example, Dio's boxing techniques, which he reached 90% mastery.
Once he reaches 100%, he was informed that it would not be able to increase in numbers, but it can be improved through new creative ideas. The max mastery only symbolized the person who was recorded to have the highest mastery.
For his spin, the system boxes told him that the man recorded with the highest proficiency in history (100%), was a Joestar. The system rarely gives out clues of the future for Dio like that, and also like the Red Stone of Aja, which Dio could not find any useful information on.
Also, his Spin reached a higher mastery of 18% due to the many years of hard work. He was not born talented in the spin, but he was born with intelligence which helped him learn the ways of the technique slowly among other things.
He also stored more stone baseballs in his body now that he could afford them easily. The only problem for him was their durability, but he solved it easily with the high allowance from George.
Dio began to think about a proverb that he heard from his adoptive father, 'Money grows on the tree of persistence.'
He decided to stop thinking about it and focus on his stamping skill. Dio was proud of himself for creating the technique in the last year or two, but he knew it could improve more.
Still, thanks to his improvement in Open Status proficiency, he could now just say words and to screen would react to his bidding, like a body part connected to him.
"Record the Optic Stamps skill now!" Dio yelled excitedly in the restroom with a smile on his face before remembering where he currently was sitting.

"Open Status, show me just my racial skills and fighting techniques." This time, with a much quieter voice, Dio sent an order to see his racial abilities.

With a look of satisfaction, Dio decided to close his Status panel to deliver more poison to his "father". But first, Dio decided to go to wash his hands.
DIO was not a filthy animal, he was perfect! He needed to always be clean and respectable, especially after taking a shit!
