"They don't get to look at my face while I fuck them," Zein said with a smile.

Which was the truth, since Zein did not take off his mask even during sex. A lot of time, people in the end zones had no leeway for indoor sex. They just did it in any secluded place they could find, including the back of a building, or inside a rundown car. 

But even when doing it indoors, Zein almost never took off his mask. On the rare occasions that he did, he would do them from the back. Even with people who already knew his face--like Zach--he made no exception. 

Which means he had never kissed them either.

The fact that he took his mask off when he had sex with Bassena--even before their relationship started--was telling; that he already harbored some level of affection for the younger man.
