章 2: 1

Inside a moving car, two people were seen having a conversation.

"So Bella is coming home?" the younger one questioned. He was pretty tall and fit, standing at 6'5". He had a lean build with well-defined muscles. His handsome face was accentuated by sharp features and dark brown hair.

"Yeah," the older man replied, a middle-aged man with a sturdy build and a slightly weathered appearance. He had short-cropped gray hair and a mustache, which added to his rugged charm. If anyone were to see these two, they would recognize them as Charlie Swan, Chief of Police, and his son Arthur Swan.

"How long has it been since she came back? 2, 3 years and now she's just moving back in," Arthur said slightly upset. Now Arthur and his twin sister, Isabella or Bella, used to be really close even after their mother and father split. So naturally, Arthur loved her. After a while, Bella stopped coming to see him and his father, even after all the messages he sent to her. This hurt his father a lot, and he could see it. It also hurt him, but he got over it and stopped reaching out at some point.

But recently, his mother, Renee, had called and asked his dad to take her in, and he agreed.

"Art," Charlie said seriously, "She's your sister. You should be happy. Maybe you guys can repair your bond," he said while pulling into the airport parking lot. "Now come on, she should be landing soon," he said, leaving the car.

"Fine," Arthur said before following his dad.

'So the plot is starting,' Arthur thought to himself while mentally sighing.

That's right, Arthur was a transmigrator from another Earth. An Earth where the current world was just a cheesy vampire romance from the 2000s.

Arthur's POV

'Even if I know the plot, I can't forgive her for abandoning me,' I thought. During the divorce of our parents, we had the choice to choose who we would stay with. I chose dad; he was a much better parent than Renee, who obviously didn't want anything to do with us or being a mother.

After the divorce, she barely reached out to me, and by the time I turned 13, we had zero communication.

For the past 17 years, I've sat here and contemplated what I could do to escape the whole vampire and werewolf future. I wanted to move out of state, but since I was underage, I couldn't. Also, since vampires are everywhere, I would rather stay with the ones that didn't eat us. And since we're "Guardian wolves," staying was most likely the safest choice.

Getting to the terminal where Bella was supposed to arrive, my dad asked me, "Can you at least try to be happy and welcome her home?" he said.

"I'll try," I said with a plain tone of voice as if what he said had gone in one ear and came out the other.

After waiting about 10 minutes, we heard a shy awkward voice come from behind us. "Charlie?" Turning around, we saw a pale, skinny young girl. She had a beautiful face with beautiful brown eyes and long brown hair.

"Bells," my dad responded just as awkwardly. Not knowing what to do, we all just stood there for a minute.

"Ahem," I exclaimed to break the awkward silence.

"Ah, right. You remember your brother, Arthur, right?" Dad said, motioning his hand towards me.

"Yeah, of course. Hi," Bella said with a small wave.

"Hey," I responded.

The atmosphere got weird again, so to get out of this, I said, "Unless we're going to stand here and say hey repeatedly, I suggest we go home."

"Right, come on, Bella. I'll hold your stuff," Dad said, grabbing her stuff before heading to the car.

The whole car ride home was filled with silence, with only some awkward small talk about hair.

"I cleared some shelves off in the bathroom," Dad said, leading Bella up the stairs.

Deciding my presence wasn't needed anymore, I headed to my room. Walking into the room, which was filled with bookshelves filled with books from a variety of genres, guitars hung up on the wall, and cases of CDs with all kinds of music.

*VROOM* I heard a rickety car pull into the yard. Looking out the window, I saw Billy and Jacob getting out of a rusty orange truck.

Watching Bella get into her car, I muttered, "I've spent 17 years worrying about life, but I don't even get a car."

Going downstairs, I said hey to Jacob and Billy before asking my dad, "Can you take me to get a tattoo?"

*Sigh* "Arthur, we've talked about this. You're too young for a tattoo," he said.

"But she can operate a 5,000-pound death machine, but I can't get some harmless ink?" I fired back.

"What if you don't like it when you're older?" he said.

"I turn 18 in 9 months. I doubt I'll change my mind, so I'll still end up getting it and regretting it," I replied.

He stared me down for a minute before sighing and saying, "Fine."

"I know a tattoo artist that'll give you half off. Just tell him I sent you," Billy said, telling me the name of the parlor.

"Thanks, Billy," I said. "Now, come on, old man. Let's go."

Meanwhile, at the Cullen's house

Alice's POV

As my family and I returned home from hunting, I paused and dropped the deer I was holding as a vision appeared in my mind.

In the vision, I saw myself cuddling in the living room with a handsome pale man. We were laughing, and in the background, I saw Edward playing the piano while a girl stood behind him, admiring him.

We found our mates.
