章 16: Chapter 16
The next day, Rias woke up while having a heavy feeling on her body. She sat on her bed in daze, still not understanding how Sona'a Knight took out all of them in just a second. The moment she blinked her eye was all it took for Tomoe to leave all of them unconscious.
Rias's team was disheartened by their defeat as they could only stare in the air. Even Rias who is supposed to comfort them for their lose is in the same state. They were like that for 30 minutes before their nose started twitching, smelling a aroma that they never smelled before they could only snapped from their daze state. They look towards where the smell is coming from and saw Xander walking out of the kitchen bringing many foods with him.
"You all look so miserable, so Sona sent me to cheer you up, I don't do that to someone except Sona so I just cooked you some food hoping that it would help your mood" Xander said while having a innocent smile on his face. He then laid the food in the table as they started reaching for the food infront of them.
They took a bite and was astonished by the taste. "Hm!? What is this!? Its so delicious" Issei exclaimed loudly not caring about his image as he started devouring the food. "Ara, this is the first time I've ever eaten something like this" Akeno praised his food while placing her hand on the side of her head.
Slowly everyone gained their vitality as they suddenly felt their body getting stronger. "What is this!?" Rias reacted strongly she didn't know that there is food that can make you stronger, even though it was just a little. "This food is made from something special and rather few, I can't keep making these, so enjoy it"
Hearing his words made them slow down and started to savor this heavenly food they're munching. "Now that everyone gained there energy back, I'm going back" Xander said while waving his hands towards them. "Wait! Can.. can you tell me how Sona gained their power?" Rias asked hopefully wishing to know how to get stronger in a short amount of time.
Xander thought for a moment and answered. "I trained them" Xander said simply making them stunned. "You..you trained them? Can you train us too?" Rias asked hoping he would accept her request. "Uh, no." Xander said with plainly. "Why?" Rias said gaining a confused look from Xander. "I mean, why should I train your peerage? I have no responsibilities like that" Xander's words made Rias realized that she's being unreasonable.
She could only sigh as she asked "Then why did you train Sona's peerage?" Rias's words made Xander smile. "It's simple, she is my fiance after all" Xander said while raising his chest as if proud by what he achieved. Rias and Akeno were dumbfounded, Sona accepted Xander means he beat her in chess, and doing something that even old devils can't do is quite an achievement.
Xander thought of something. "Then how about this, I'll train Koneko-chan to win this Rating Game and you 'Gremory' would owe me one" Xander proposed this idea, he was already planning to train Koneko so having extra benefits would not be bad. "Deal!" Rias accepted the offer immediately, she was desperate and she could only hold to this little hope.
After eating, they immediately followed Xander and Koneko, hoping to gain some insights in their training. "Okay, attack me with everything you got Neko-chan, don't hold back I'm quite sturdy" Xander said as Koneko took his words carefully. This man is the one who made the whole Sitri peerage broken so he's probably much stronger than them.
"Understood" Koneko said as she dashed towards Xander while raising her small fist ready to put a hole on his body. But before the fist could hit its target, Koneko suddenly slipped. She saw that Xander hit some part of her legs making her lose balance. She realize that it was a flaw in her fighting style as she immediately adapted and closed that flaw.
This is the result of the 'Teaching' skill, she immediately understood what's being taught to her and can directly adapt to the change. After 6 hours of nonstop fighting she finally learned the skill that Xander was hoping for her to learn. Her fighting skill was fixed and its looked like a proper art now instead of merely charging forward with brute force.
Xander also made her learn 'Endurance' by beating her and healing in the process, she has quite a good durability for lasting 6 hours of nonstop fighting. "Okay, that's all, you can gain the experience yourself, and now sleep, you did well Koneko-chan" Hearing his words Koneko's focused eyes finally relaxed as she said "Yes..." She smiled and lost consciousness as Xander caught her body and carried her back to the mansion.
Everyone who was watching the training, kept getting shocked seeing how Koneko became so strong with just one session of training with him. They learned that Xander's healing spell does not return the body to its former glory but just hasten the natural regeneration of the body. If you don't understand how good that is, you can imagine your muscle being destroyed and after being healed it would become much stronger than before, this is also what happened to Koneko, though the weakness of this spartan training is just pain. If you can't endure the excruciating pain then you can only go home and sleep.
They got motivated watching them train as they finally started trying hard in their training. Rias started training her Power of Destruction, from changing its shape to controlling it. Issei's feelings was detected by the Boosted Gear as his strength grew much stronger than it did in the canon. Kiba determined to reach a greater leap in his speed before the Rating Game start. Everyone basically trained harder than before with the exception of Koneko who is practicing her new moves to familiarize with them.

After the night came, Xander went to the appointed place while bringing his light novel. He arrived in a certain restaurant 15 minutes before the promised time, he waited for 10 minutes before the woman finally arrived.
"Hello? Are you the one Xander Ranvil? The one Chihiro mentioned?" The woman asked Xander, as he introduced himself immediately. "Are you the editor? I am indeed him, thank you for coming" Xander thanked the woman as he let her sit in the chair.
The woman sat down and introduced herself "My name is Machida Sonoko, a editor from the publishing company Fujikawa Shoten, I have many experience in handling manga so don't expect to gain my approval just because you were introduced by Chihiro" Machida said as she smile at Xander. "Its okay, I'm quite confident in my work you see" Xander didn't mind her saying that since it means that she's professional.
They immediately went into the business as Xander handed his manuscript towards her. She accepted the bunch of paper and started reading it quietly. From time to time, her expressions changed into many emotions, at the end she could only sigh since there are no more papers to flip. "To be honest.. I wasn't expecting this. Chihiro did say that its good but I thought she was just saying since she was drunk at that time. But this is awesome, I can't helped but immerse myself inside this story" In this world there are indeed books but their story sucks, so a story like your name is a game changer for them.
They negotiated and it ended with him receiving 18% royalties. That was already quite huge for a rookie author, after that they just chatted for a little while. "I'm already handling another person so I might not be there sometimes to guide you" Machida couldn't help but sigh thinking that this guy is quite unlucky. "Another person? Its okay, I already has the whole idea in my head, I can write it already if I want to but I just want the first volume to be published first" Xander comforted her as they kept talking until its finally late. They went and say their farewell to each other and immediately went home.
