By the time I arrived, I was met by a familiar scene, one that I dreaded the most since Kian came back from the states.

"Bastard! I said get up!" Mother's voice sounded from inside the room I kept Kian in. My feet ran upstairs and bursted through the doors, I already knew what awaited me inside.

"Rub that look off your face! Just who the hell do you think you are?!" Mother spat at him, only it was literal, and with no regard for Kian as a human.

Her hand gripped the back of his head and tugged on his hair bringing their eyes to meet. Kian glared sternly at her, just like he used to back when we were kids.

But things were different, I was a full grown woman, and Alpha, unlike then, I wasn't powerless.

I marched over to the scene and placed a hand on mother's wrist, "That's enough, Kian is my guest here, so you will treat him well while he's here."
