章 76: Need Help
"I hope you enjoy your time here."
"You too, it was nice to meet you again."
Haruto waved his hands to say bye to the elderly couple and watched their backs disappear into the crowd.
"It's a pretty big coincidence to meet this here again right?"
"I know right…"
The two of them went silent for a while before Mahiru grabbed Haruto's arm and looked towards him.
"Let's get some more food, that takoyaki wasn't enough to fill me up."
"Are you starting to turn into a glutton now?"
"No, blame the festival and I have a normal appetite alright."
"Whatever you say~"
"I know you shouldn't be the one to talk."
Mahiru lighty jabbed the sides of Haruto's waist and he just brushed them off with a loud chuckle. Complying to her request, he brought her further into the row of food stalls and decided to buy whatever they craved.
They didn't buy too much but Mahiru looked with amazement with the amount of food Haruto was able to waff down compared to what she had seen before.
"Your stomach really is amazing."
"I'm not sure but festival food just makes me want to eat more."
Haruto wiped his mouth and threw away the stack of sticks and paper containers of all the food he had eaten. Mahiru was chewing the last piece of chicken from the skewer she had gotten and also looked around for any other stalls that caught her attention.
Near the corner of the section she noticed a large picture of what seemed to be shaved ice and felt like she needed something sweet to help balance all the savory foods she had.
""Want to get some shaved ice?""
Both of them spoke at the same time, surprising the couple and laughed at each other, noticing how in sync their thoughts were at the moment.
They made their way towards the stall and discussed the flavors they would want to get and didn't notice the person running the stall.
"Haruto and Shiina-san?"
"Ah, you guys came to this festival!! Come get some shaved ice from us."
Tanaka and Nishinoya cheerfully greeted the two as they wore white headbands and had their shirt sleeves rolled up. Haruto stood in silence as he was surprised to see them here but he cheerfully greeted them back.
"Who knew you guys would run a stall here."
"Ryu's sister had a friend that needed help to run one of her stalls and we offered to do it. So what kind of flavors would you want?"
"I would like to get one matcha and one red bean paste."
"Coming right up!"
Nishinoya made his way to the back and rotated his shoulders to prepare himself to shave down the block of ice for them.
"UHRYAA"
He grabbed the handle with swift movements and spun it quickly, leading to a large mountain of ice to be shaved off and the bowls were quickly being filled.
Haruto and Mahiru clapped their hands in amazement after watching Nishinoya's movements and he gave a dramatic bow before decorating their bowls with their ordered flavors.
"One matcha and one red bean paste! I made sure to add a bit more ice and toppings for the both of you."
"Thanks boss!"
Haruto gave a big salute and Nishinoya rubbed his nose after seeing the looks of appreciation Haruto and Mahiru gave him. They took a spoonful of their shaved ice and began to indulge themselves into the sweet treat in their hands.
"Noya-san we've hit the jackpot…"
"What do you mean?"
"Remember what nee-san said that if we sold more than the set goal, we could keep the earnings."
"What about it?"
"Just look."
Tanaka pointed towards their surroundings and saw that the people in the crowd were looking towards Haruto and Mahiru who were enjoying their shaved ice.
All the guys in the crowd couldn't take their eyes off of Mahiru who had a beautiful smile on her face. While all the girls felt a blush reach their cheeks after they had witnessed Haruto lick his lips before wearing a captivating smile.
"Where do you think she got that shaved ice?"
"I think it's the one that's near them."
"I wish I was that spoon…"
Murmurs appeared around the oblivious couple who didn't react as they were too focused with each other and the dessert in their hands.
"Thanks for the dessert again!"
"Thank you."
Haruto and Mahiru bowed their heads slightly and made their way back into the festival to see what other activities they could do, leaving a crowd of people near Tanaka's stall.
"Ryu, let's make some money."
"Yoshaa!"
The two guys were fired up after seeing the growing line of customers and mentally thanked the two for their great promotional skills.

With their bellies full, Haruto and Mahiru made their way into the section where various activities were being held to see what they could do.
Since the festival revolved around the theme of Tanabata, there were workshops of different kinds that included paper such as calligraphy, origami and also creating your own streamers.
As the two of them wanted to try some of these activities out, they were too distracted to realize that another familiar pair was doing the same one across from them.
"Look, how does it look!"
"Is that a frog?"
"...well it says lion on the paper so I don't know if it's supposed to look like a frog."
Kanoka whispered the last bit of her sentence as she felt embarrassed showing Kageyama her failed piece of origami.
"W-Well it doesn't look bad. I'm pretty bad at this myself."
"...."
Kageyama tried his best to encourage her but all Kanoka gave was a deadpan stare as she was able to see how he tried to hide his perfectly crafted paper crane.
"Dummy."
Kageyama flinched as he saw Kanoka pouting and took another piece of paper in an attempt to make another lion. He didn't know what to do during this type of situation since this was the first time he's been this close to a girl.
'I should ask Haruto for some…'
He lifted up his head to look around thinking about asking Haruto for some advice the next time they meet, but he noticed a familiar duo in front of him.
Kageyama noticed the two of them laughing and eventually he locked eyes with Haruto who was startled to see him here. After taking a quick scan around him, he noticed Kanoka right beside him and an understanding look appeared on his face.
'This bastard..'
But Kageyama was able to notice the teasing glint inside of his eyes and he felt his face burn up. He waved his hands around quickly to signal to him and they started to talk through hand gestures.
"What is he saying?"
"A few profanities and it seems that he wants some advice."
"Maybe advice about Amanai?"
"That's my guess too."
Mahiru was extremely curious with how they were able to talk from that far of a distance but her attention was diverted with the mention of needing Haruto's help for something.
Haruto continued to read Kageyama's lips and his hand gestures before finally figuring out the whole situation.
"How…to..cheer..up?"
"Did he do something to make her upset?"
"Maybe, but I don't think she's that upset since she's still trying to sit close to him."
Haruto saw how Kanoka had a pout on her face and was putting all of her attention into folding her paper.
"Mahiru, what makes you happy when you're upset?"
"...When you give me those warm hugs and when you brush through my hair.."
"...I was going to use you as a reference but it's alright.."
Haruto wanted to get some input from a girl but he guessed it was an error on his part to ask Mahiru.
"Is he showing off?"
Kageyama felt his eyebrows twitch when he saw Haruto getting all sweet with Mahiru by gently brushing her hair and fixing the bangs that covered her forehead.
After waiting for a while he got a message back from Haruto and nodded his head as he felt like it made sense.
"Kanoka."
"Hmm, what's up?"
"You are incredibly beautiful."
"!?!?!"
Kageyama said in a straight voice and Kanoka's face turned beet red due to the sudden compliment from him. She began to stutter, not knowing what to say and her brain shut down after seeing him stare straight into her eyes.
"Do you think it worked?"
"Well, complimenting her origami work is the safest option since that was the source of her displeasure. It looks like it worked out though."
Haruto and Mahiru smiled after seeing the happy face Kanoka was giving and the breath of relief Kageyama did. He gave a subtle glance to Haruto and gave a thumbs up to which he gave one back.
"Let's leave those two alone."
"Sure, let's go somewhere else."
He agreed to Mahiru's suggestion and they walked away, going to another location of the festival to check out.
