I can sense that something is wrong with Lucas but right now, all I can focus on are the words coming out of Brandon's mouth.

Nathanial Hawthorne. The leader of the Nightshade Syndicate. Of course, it was him. It had to be someone powerful and connected enough to get his hands on two of the stones and I can only imagine how he got them.

"What does your father want with all three stones?" I ask suddenly feeling an unease in my gut.

Brandon looks at me with an intensity that makes me feel like he can see right through me. "He wants to use the power of the stones to bring about a new era of darkness in this world."

I swallow hard as my heart begins to race. This is not what I wanted to hear. We have to make sure that Nathanial Hawthorne does not get a hold of all three stones or else the consequences could be disastrous.

"Lucas, we need to get the moonstone before he does," I say, my mind already started spinning with plans on how to take down Nathanial Hawthorne.
