章 16: Upgrading

Oh, to be honest, I forgot all about the record label. None the less, I think this would have probably been my choice anyway. I won't have as much creative freedom and I will make a lot less money if I signed a record deal. With my Celebrity system in place, it won't take long for me to become incredibly famous anyway. I also want to do acting later as well and If im signed to a label, I might not be able to.
20 minutes for a system level up? I wonder what change it will go through.
As I approached the center of the city and looked down, I saw my house. I could tell it was my house, because it was the only house that seemed out of place amongst the other buildings.
Although it was a small house, it was made of moonstone and it was sphere shaped.
Going inside the house, I noticed all the furniture inside was made out of crystal while orange lightning bug like things flickered around keeping the place lit. It had a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. Each room could barely fit anything in them. The place was naturally cool inside, but didn't seem to have electricity. Luckily it did have plumbing.
"System can I spend coins on my home while you are leveling up?"

My coin balance was 31,350.
I need to spend them more wisely in the future, because I didn't know if Id ever get another task like earning 5 coins per fan in the future.
The shop let me buy additional rooms, furniture, an upstairs, a basement, and just like the celebrity shop, it had some fantastical items itself.
The most expensive items in the store were the House and City Upgrade - 250,000, City Surveillance - 100,000, Robot Maid - 50,000, Moonlight Computer - 50,000, Training Room - 50,000, Transporter Beaming Technology Room - 50,000, Holodeck - 50,000, Weapons Room - 50,000, etc. The list went on. All of the items seemed appealing.
The cheapest items on the list were almost any type of furniture or decoration. Most of them went for the standard 50-100c. Very cheap and affordable.
The things priced in the middle of the two were things that powered the house, extra rooms, pets, and minor tech upgrades. Electric House Power - 10,000, Nuclear House Power 15,000. All I could think was, does it matter? It will just power the house right?
The house pets were pretty cool as well. I could buy magical beast, alien beast, and even regular earth pets. They sold for around 5000c - 20,000c depending on the type of house pet you purchase.
After looking through the items a bit more I decided to buy two items for now and i'll start to save after today for the fantastical house items later. I purchased a room expansion for 1000c, Electric House Power for 10,000, and a koi pond for 200c.
I expanded the living room with the room expansion. It went from a 120sqft to 450 sqft. After that I pointed to where I wanted the koi pond and thought 'place koi pond here'. A koi pond magically appeared where I had pointed.
As I was about to add electric power, my system notified me that it had upgraded to level 2.

I opened the shop and looked at the magical instruments. If I buy an instrument I can now add a low tier magic to it. The magics include healing, emotional manipulation, sleep, wake, and theatric magic. Each instrument had a price tag of at least 10,000c. It was a huge difference from the regular instruments that usually cost between 50c and 100c.
I couldn't wait to buy one, yet at the same time I had to wait. I had other things I wanted to buy first.
Checking out the actors wardrobe I selected my current costume and chose alter.
First I changed the Tuxedo to look like Moon Knights armor from Marvel, Next I changed the cape to look like code geass's lelouch's cape, only I made the colors match the grey and white of the moon knight armor. I got rid of the top hat and instead turned my hair, skin, and eyes an ivory white. Finally I changed the sword into brass knuckles that were built into the gloves of the costume, only it was made of whatever the systems weapon is made out of instead of brass.
The magics I could imbue on the costume were purely cosmetic and offered me no added power. I added glowing magic to the moon in the center of the chest, I added lightning magic to my hair and eyes which flickered electric arcs every now and then, and then I added voice changing magic which altered my voice to sound like reverse flash from the CW show.
The system gave me a discount for my first costume alteration so it came to 10,000c which left me with 10,150c.
I can't let the other founding heroes out drip me. 10,000c was worth it.
Although my hair is a dead giveaway of who I was because of how it stands up, I figured with all my other alterations, it should still be better than superman's glasses.
If people can't tell who he is, they for sure won't guess who I am based purely on a hairdo.
