章 3: Chapter 3: Journey Through The Seas

Celestiel yawned, stretching herself out of her drowsiness. Surprisingly, she had slept quite well, probably because the water had been softly rocking the ship like a baby. She looked towards the other side of the bed to check if Sebastian was still asleep and found that he wasn't even there. She used her hand to smoothen them little wrinkles on the bed, it was cold and she realised Sebastian probably didn't even return to the room to sleep.

She swung her legs down and looked around the room. She hadn't really looked at it yesterday, it was dark and she didn't really have the strength to check it out.

The room walls were made with Calabran wood. Right in front of her was what seemed to be an in-built mirror and dresser. To the left was a door that Celestiel decided was Sebastian's closet and to the right, there was a similar door Celestiel assumed, was her own closet.

The room was big and spacious and to the far right, there was another door. Curious to know what was behind it, Celestiel went to check it for herself. It was the bathroom. Celestiel hadn't really thought of how pirates kept to their hygiene and to be honest, she had assumed pirates didn't have their baths regularly. But this proved her wrong.

The bathroom looked new, compared to the rest of the ship, and it almost didn't even look like it was a part of the ship. It looked fancy and posh, like the one she had back in Icartha. Celestiel abruptly realised that Sebastian had made these renovations so she would feel more comfortable.

Her heart swelled at the thought and she couldn't help the small smile that made its way to her lips. He had confirmed to her that all the rumours about him were true but his actions were only contradicting his words.

Celestiel had bath and wore the simplest dress she had. She made her way up to the main deck, immediately spotting her husband at the wheel, a compass in his hand as he stared ahead. He had taken his captain's hat off and his hair was slightly messy, courtesy of the morning sea breeze. He looked handsome, the way he looked so calm yet so wild at the same time. Being wild and free, that was something Celestiel very much admired about pirates.

She stared on at him, admiring his features. But the moment ended when he looked at her. Having been caught staring, Celestiel turned bright red, but she didn't look away. She still stared, as if afraid if she turned away, she wouldn't be able to look back.

"You're awake", Sebastian said, an unreadable expression on his face. "Come here."

Obediently, Celestiel made her way up and went to stand beside him. "Good morning, my lord"

"Did you sleep well?", Sebastian asked, glancing at her.

"I did", Celestiel replied and then grimaced, wondering whether to ask her question or not. Sebastian noticed this and he raised a brow at her, curious.

"Speak", he told her

"Did you sleep at all, my lord?", Celestiel asked, awkwardly. She had a slightly worried expression on her face and it slightly surprised Sebastian. He turned his face away from her with a small smile.

"No need to worry about me, wife", he spoke. "It's good that you're awake, we're almost at the first sea"

Celestiel was immediately interested. Her mother had told her stories of how beautiful and clear the first sea of Calabran was. She gazed at the sea, staring passed the vast horizon and anticipating her first glimpse of the first sea.

"Excited, wife?", he asked, turning back to look at her.

"I am. My mother used to tell me stories about the seas of Calabran, she was born in the first sea", Celestiel answered honestly. "But I've never been there"

"Your mother was a pirate then?", Sebastian asked, recieving a small shrug from Celestiel.

"You could say that, she was sold to my family by her captain, fell in love with my father and had me."

Sebastian noticed the way her hand stuck its way to the beautiful, bronze locket around her neck. "And where is she now?"

Celestiel looked down. "She died...a few years ago."

"And the locket? She gave it to you?", Sebastian asked

"Yes", Celestiel replied, chuckling a bit. "She told me she stole it from her captain before she was sold....as some kind of compensation"

"Ah...a pirate indeed", Sebastian smiled and Celestiel couldn't help but smile back.

"A pirate indeed", she repeated with a nod. "That means I have pirate blood in me, don't you think?"

Sebastian nodded, a ghost of a smile still on his lips. "I do"

Celestiel sighed happily, turning back to stare at the sea. "I can't wait to see it"

Sebastian's smile faded and was replaced by an unusual look in his eye as he gazed at her. He took her hand and pulled her gently towards him. Her hands were on the wheel as she stood in front of it, and his hands were on her hands as he stood behind her, gracefully turning the wheel in whatever direction he intended.

Celestiel froze. She had never been in an intimate position with a man before. This was intimate, wasn't it? The action was abrupt and it surprised Celestiel. But she gradually calmed her loudly and nervously beating heart, beginning to enjoy the closeness she shared with her husband. The moment was beautiful and she basked in the feeling of his warm, hard chest against her back.

On the main deck, someone watched the couple in distaste. She stared at the princess, frowning visibly and not even willing to hide the frown even if she could.

"What's with that look, Alazne?", Leonore came to taunt the raven haired woman. He had an amused sneer on his face as he poked at Alazne's anger. "You do know you never stood a chance, right? It's so sad, I almost feel bad for you"

Alazne glared at Leonore and snarled at him. "Mind your business "

Leonore let out a laugh. "The king is my business, sweetheart"

"What do you want?", Alazne spat out at him and Leonore took a daunting step towards her.

"Watch your tone with me", he warned. His signature smile still on his face, yet his voice dripped with danger. Alazne was genuinely frightened of the man and it didn't help that he didn't trust her. Even though they had known each other a long time now.

"They look good together, don't you think?", Leonore's voice brightened as he took a step back and glanced at the couple.

"The king loses interest quickly, it's only a matter of time", Alazne bitterly muttered, looking away.

"That's rude, Lazzie", Leonore casually laughed, and Alazne cringed at the nickname she hated so much. "She's your queen now, don't get on her bad side"

"She's not my queen", Alazne growled, annoyed.

Leonore laughed. "Yes she is, you fool. As long as she's alive that is"

And then he walked away, leaving Alazne to her thoughts.
