"Welcome back to the surface". As I look over at the precursor structure in front of me as well as seeing the giant gun. "Thank you for hatching my children and letting me experience this again". The sea empress says with a happy and grateful tone.
"You're welcome empress, but I must promptly leave now that I have let you embrace the ocean like you once used to". I say to the sea empress while looking over the baby sea emperors.
"well if you must leave then you have my thanks as well as that of my children but I believe we should deal with him before you leave". as the sea empress looks to the west.
"I can deal with them if you want empress after all this is the first time you have felt the current in who knows how long". as I look at the sea empress but already observe the rapidly advancing kelp leviathan.
"Since you so kindly offered you can while I watch my children safely". The sea empress says while swimming towards her kids.
'well here comes the fun part though it feels weird acting so polite. Now to fight this guy and see how it goes'. I then quickly twist my body westward and dart forward instantly appearing in front of the kelp leviathan.
"Let's see if the stories hold up shall we". as I quickly try and swipe the kelp leviathan but he suddenly disappears. "so you're the annoying peeper that was roaming my territory so brazenly I can't wait to start tearing you apart like you're a small gasopod".
The kelp leviathan then rushes forward somehow moving the water around him in a way that makes it look like there are several of him. "There is a reason I'm the second strongest measly peeper". the kelp leviathan taunts as he tries and bite my side but I do the same trick as him and vanish behind him.
"You are quite talkative for such a weak leviathan". I say with a taunting and proud tone trying to irritate him as I then rush forward and focus on using my senses only for this fight to measure how good they are.
"You will not insult the Raging Leviathan without consequence". as he dashes toward me with several water mirages next to him confusing me shortly.
"Then let's stop talking shall we". I go quiet and rush towards the kelp leviathan and nip what I believe is one of his fins but is a bundle of kelp instead.
the kelp leviathan then makes several water mirages by shaking the water with his tail as he then rushes forward but a couple of them somehow split and quickly dissipate once the water slows to a normal pace.
'He's smart I can give him that though he is also kind of stupid'. I then look down and see him under me and rocketing up to try and hit my underbelly.
as he collides with my stomach I quickly feel him be stunned still as his brain goes blank with how hard my exo-skeleton is letting me quickly twist my body and bite him tearing his pectoral fin off.
"You know you taste like a sashimi roll and it's delicious, so I must apologize for this next part." I then enlarged my jaw massively and bit the kelp leviathan in half and swallowed him.
'you know it kind of sucks that he was the last known being of his species because he was both smart and delicious but on a side note it's time to finish eating'. as I take another giant bite swallowing the rest of the kelp leviathan.

Kelp Leviathan DNA
Mutations Gained: Adaptive Camouflage and Water Mirages
as I finish swallowing the kelp leviathan I feel my body tingle as my body quickly shifts colors from my underbelly to being a bright sky blue and my back to a dirt and sandy brown.
'well this is more useful than I could imagine and it even automatically merged into Leviathan's Body. What's even better is that I can now change my color scheme'. as my body shifts to a deep azure with onyx black and royal purple highlights.
'I look fucking amazing and I can even add some other colors and mesh them together as well if I wanted'. While my body's color shifts with red and blue swirling around my body and constantly fluctuating like the flames of a dragon and the waves of the ocean clashing.
'as cool as this looks it takes too much mental space to constantly change so let's stick to this'. while my entire back is covered again in a deep azure blue and my underbelly in a royal purple with what looks like ink lines going through both as well as the tips of my fins and back spikes having a crimson red.
'just because I'm a giant monster doesn't mean I can't have class'. as I overlook my body admiring the work I just put into it especially the black ink-like lines across my body.
'I know finally have some goddamn drip now the next part would be seeing how water mirages work even though I automatically get the basics since it's mainly just exiting the water around me with controlled movements'.
I then try to make a water mirage though It comes out as a smaller me with slight disfigurations due to me not doing it right. 'well I can come back to this later, for now, let's go to the dunes, and then explore the rest of this planet'.
'actually before the dunes, I have to go back to the floating islands and kill a quick guy'. I then twist my body and teleport to the floating islands then swiftly dive down.
'let's do this quickly'. while I look over the leviathan I swiftly appear above him and bite into his head giving him a quick death then start immediately eating him.

Grave Leviathan DNA

'to be expected honestly he was just a bone shark the size of a reaper so nothing special now let's actually finish these quests before I head to the dunes'. I then teleport myself to the only Grassy Plateaus I haven't explored.
'let's find this guy then move back to the bulb zone'. I then spread my senses all around the biome looking for a sign of the leviathan here and see a giant turtle-like leviathan with hooks dropping out of its stomach with a hooked and already dead reaper under it.
'well, that's slightly terrifying but let's kill this guy then move on'. as I dart towards the leviathan and see it already accepted its death as it unhooks the reaper leviathan and lets itself die.
'that felt way too easy but I guess it is to be expected since it's clearly an ambush hunter with how it looks not let's start eating'. I then start tearing through the body of the leviathan and eating it quickly.

Bane Leviathan DNA
Mutations Gained: String Production
as I finish swallowing the Bane leviathan I feel a small sac grow within my body allowing for a small yet very strong string allowing it to not even be cut by steel.
'Not bad not what I was expecting but not bad and it even automatically added itself to Phoenix's Organs which is convenient. Besides that, it is time to go to the bulb zone now'.
I then quickly teleport myself into the middle of the bulb zone and do the same process of covering the biome with my senses looking for a leviathan and sensing a ton of them roaming around the biome with them occasionally fighting each other and then eating the loser.
'well, it's to be expected I guess now let's go eat one really quick'. I then rush forward into a fight between the two of them and quickly kill them both by slicing through them with my fins.
'That was easy but let's start eating and seeing how they taste'. I then start tearing into both of the bodies and quickly finish eating both of them after having to kill a third that got too close.

Cannibal Leviathan DNA

'wow both a terrible name and nothing gained if there wasn't a quest this would be a complete waste of time but I still have two more spots to go before the dunes now to the blood kelp'.
I then quickly teleport to the smaller blood kelp area and see a prowler leviathan as I did in the northern blood kelp zone but this one is twice its size and is surrounded by dead ampeels and Crabsquid's.
'This will be both fast and easy'. I then dive down towards his back and let out a giant area of electricity completely burning him to a crisp and obliterating everything else.
'yep, quick and easy I don't even need to eat him just kill him now to the next area'. as I quickly teleport back into the lost river and see an eel and snake hybrid that is constricting around a ghost leviathan and biting into the neck as he tightens.
'That was quick though let's stop admiring the scene and just kill them both I want to be done and see the dunes already even though the place will probably be empty'.
I then rush forward and kill them both quickly leaving the snake-eel hybrid stunned before its death. 'let's start eating now shall we'. I then start swiftly eating the leviathans.

Great Girros DNA
Mutations Gained: Coated Scales
while I finish the last bite of the Great Girros I feel my entire body tingle and the small holes in my exoskeleton for secreting my poison become more efficient as well as holding the poison on the top better letting me be properly coated in a deadly poison.
'well, that's a great gain I wasn't expecting though I will happily take it and this is also the last place I need to come for a quest and I can even take the rewards now as well so let's get somewhere safe'.
I then teleport onto the mountain island in the form of a Skyray and perch myself on a branch. 'Now let's see what we get from these beautiful quests shall we'.

Mutations Gained: Retractable Bones, Memory Ingestion, Telekinesis, Unsickable, Seismic Sense, and Unlimited Stamina
as I finished looking over my new mutations I quickly got back in the water and went back to my normal form knowing that otherwise, it might be counter-productive.
I then felt my entire body burn continuously in some areas more than others but the feeling of being able to run years on end fills my body as well as the ability to push my bones out of my body and use them as weapons.
While also feeling my entire immune system burn away and come back with the ability to instantly make me immune to any disease I come across.
I then feel a giant rush of pain through my spine up to my brain as I feel the sudden ability to have all of the memories of those I have eaten but be immune to the possible side effects from it.
As well as the pain getting even more intense as I feel the sudden feeling of being able to grab things with my mind as well as being able to lift anything due to unlimited stamina making me never get tired no matter what I do.
then my body starts to feel a completely new sense hit me as I suddenly touch the sea floor and feel everything going on around me for miles within the same range as my other senses.
'every time I get something good my body just has to go through a metamorphosis, doesn't it. Now let's try and get used to this'. as I look around and balance myself in the water while ignoring the new memories to look through.
'well a great thing about this is that I always adapt quickly though all these new memories are annoying though they will be useful, especially the ones from leviathans'.
'but before all of that, I must act like a child and use my new telekinesis'. I then lift a giant boulder though feeling like it is the most natural thing ever as well not making me the slightest bit tired.
'I see unlimited stamina coming in useful a lot especially with this because I can probably move this planet then since it takes mental will and stamina to move something with my mind and that was incredibly easy'.

{A/N Well everyone I hope you enjoyed the chapter as well as the main character finally finishing some quests and getting some nice things from it.
Also, I'm going to be completely honest thinking of new mutations from the system was confusing the hell out of me so I literally had to ask people for help for the last two which were telekinesis and unlimited stamina.
But besides that, the next 2 chapters will probably be the last chapters before either a time skip of him traveling or just completely bum-rushing below zero so he can go somewhere else.
also, this chapter is to decide if he will bring the sea empress along
