章 6: A New Friend
"Why is this creature here! It shouldn't be in East Blue! No I haven't seen this creature a single time while watching One Piece. There were only rumours about it"
I was shell shocked because of the creature, that stood before me. Not because it scared me, it was still too little to scare me. But because, this creature was just a myth in this world.
That's right before my eyes stood a living Dragon, a Dragon baby to be exact. The dragon in question was nearly 2/3 size of me. It was light blue in colour , red scales running through it's torso.
It had 3 pairs of limbs, seemingly containing 1 pair of hands, 1 pair of legs and 1 pair of wings. The wings were also red in colour. It's pupils were deep red. It had a pair of horns on it's head. One of it's wings was slightly damaged, must be the reason why it ended up in this jungle. It was slightly malnourished, results of not being fed for days. The little guy in question was rather cute.
It started to back out seemingly cautious of me. I slowly started to move towards it, not trying to scare it any further.
"Heyyyy little guy, you don't need to be scared of me. I won't hurt you." I said gently,
while patting it's head. The little guy started to calm down and then voluntarily started to rub it's head on my hands.

" Where is your mama, little guy?" I asked while gestureing with my hands.
The guy in question tilted it's head, seemingly confused.

"Sigh! This wouldn't do."
" Will you become my friend, little guy?" I asked.
"Rrrr" the dragon in question nodded while making cute noises.
" That's awesome. I am sure, we will have a great time together. Wait! You can understand human language?" I asked seemingly surprised.
It nodded it's head again.
....
"Ok, why don't we give you a name?" I asked while pondering.
"Prrr!" It answered in excitement.
"Why don't we call you Fitz." I asked with enthusiasm.
"Prrr!" Fitz replied with a smile.
" Looks like you like it!" I said in satisfaction.
" Now let me take a look at your wounds." I asked gently, not trying to scare the little guy again.

Fitz nodded in agreement. I looked at the wounds at it's wings.
It was superficial, nothing that can't be fixed with little treatment. Meaning it will be good as new in no time. But I need to take Fitz to Partys bar to treat it's wounds. I am sure Makino wouldn't mind having another cute little guest.

" I need to take you home Fitz but let's get you something to eat" I told Fitz but suddenly another voice came into our ears.
"Look! Look! What I found here. Is it what I think what it is?" A Malicious looking guy who came out of the forest, exclaimed.

"Who are you?" I asked while taking a battle stance, ready to attack at any moment if necessary.

The man in question was lean yet muscular. Standing at a towering height of 200 cm. The man had long black hairs tied in ponytail behind his back, beard on his face. A sinister face with a big scar running down under his right eye. The man was dressed in rugged outfits
.....
"Oh forgive my rudeness, where are my manners. I forgot to introduce myself." The man replied, a dangerous glint present in his eyes.
" My name is Lionel, age 37, ex-CP8. A few years back, I unintentionally offended a celestial dragon. So, the World Government is hunting me down. I decided to hide in East Blue but look what I found. If I can capture your little friend here and present it to Celestial dragons, the world government will surely forgive me. Then I wouldn't have to live in hiding. Now, be a good boy and hand over the little guy." The man replied mockingly.

In response all he got was a middle finger.
...
Instantly a tick mark appeared on his forehead.
"Sigh! Kids these days, don't know whats good for them." The man shouted with a maniacal smirk present on his face.
...
After that he vanished from his spot.
"Shigan" he said while appearing where I stood before, a vicious grin plastered on his face. But instantly his grin vanished from his face, replaced by a serious face.

"How is this possible. How did you learn this technique" he asked with in a serious tone.
....
" You can find out, if you manage to stay alive" I replied with a mocking grin.
Instantly I vanished from the spot using soru, appearing in front of him, delivering a shigan of my own. He also managed to dodge it using soru. Thus started our long battle.

Both of us were evenly matched in skills but he had the upper hand in experience. The only experience of fighting I had is against wild animals. But fighting against human is totally different. Humans fight with both strength, intelligence and trickery. It is far more dangerous than fighting animals. So, I was in slight disadvantage.
.....
Hours past, injuries started to pile up on both of us. But I was gaining experience. With every moment I was becoming stronger, faster and proficient in my skills. I haven't felt this way before, fighting someone evenly matched with me, my life on the line. A single mistake can cost my life. It's quite thrilling.

But Alas! I ran out of stamina after fighting for several ours. And taking the opportunity he managed to land a deadly shigan on my left shoulder, narrowly missing my neck.
I was sent flying upon impact and crashed into a tree. I was in a pretty bad situation. The wounds on my shoulder is quite deep, possibly reaching to my bones. Blood was gushing out of it.
I tried to get up but I felt pain all over my body.

" Hahahaha! Kid! you managed to put up quite a good fight. I will be honest, I haven't fought someone as strong as you in a long time. As a sign of respect I will grant you a painless death." Lionel shouted with a sinister smile present on his face.

He stood before me seemingly thinking about delivering the final blow.
"Is this how I die. In a place like this." I muttered to myself. Suddenly all of my memories of this life started to flash before my eyes, memories since my childhood to this moment.
....
That's right, I promised to stand above everyone. I have to protect everyone dear to me. I have to set out to sea and see what's out there.

...
"I cannot die here! Not in the hands of dogs of Celestial Pigs!" I shouted.
The bubbling anger inside me came out in form of an invisible force, which strikes fear inside everyone with a weaker will than mine. It was manifestation of conqueror's haki.
It momentarily stunned Lionel but he didn't fainted. While Fitz fainted completely. But one moment was all I needed.
I instantly gathered every last bit of energy left in my body. Then I placed both of my fist in front of him and a devastating shockwave left my knuckle in a front motion. Instantly a deep bloody hole appeared in Lionel's chest.

That's right I finally managed to use Rokuogan. But I had no strength left to celebrate. I instantly fell towards the ground, result of fatigue and blood loss. I didn't even have time to check on my fallen enemy. My vision started to darken.

Before I closed my eyes all I saw was a little kid running towards me.
