Lorne opened his arms wide and hugged me tightly.

In that moment, ten years of estrangement completely vanished.

"Come on, let your big brother take you shopping for a gift."

I was pulled into the car, confused as to why we weren't leaving today.

"I have a banquet tomorrow evening. I'll take you to see the sights."

Lorne shopped and bought things along the way, getting me plenty of gifts.

Clothes, shoes, watches - he grabbed all sorts of luxury items until our hands were full.

Amid the laughter and chatter, I forgot all about Alec. That fateful night, I slept soundly in the hotel, only to be woken by a text from the company's front desk girl at midnight.

When acquiring the company, my sole demand was no layoffs.

So all those people were still there.
