章 7: Chapter 7

Tears freeze on my snout until a faint growl reaches me:

"Silly wolf… save your strength."

I heave aside a beam of wood, revealing a pocket of shadow.

There lie Dominic and Caleb, both reeking of blood-moon injury.

Caleb's leg is pinned under a log, his eyes begging.

But my hands stretches to Dominic, voice shaking: "Take hold—now!"

Caleb's alpha mask shatters, his snout falling open.

I ignore him, pressing my scarf to Dominic's temple: "You nearly gave me a heart-storm!"

"My fault," he rumbles, nuzzling my palm.

Though he claims no serious wound, I demand he stay in the infirmary—only to find Caleb there, propped in a wheelchair, legs encased in threaded casts. Juliet's scent is nowhere to be found.

I dip my head in cold greeting, but he snarls: "Is this how you honor our blood-oath? You swore we'd hunt together till the final moon!"

"Swore when we were pups," I growl, eyeing his casts.
