He shouldn't need to purchase that one when he should be technically able to train it it with pure effort.

Honestly, rather than vindictive, I would rather see Ginny get depressed. After all, what child that was indoctrinated to believe they were perfect for someone wouldn't know how something as special as a soul bond works. I find it more likely that, since Harry's already bonded twice, why couldn't it happen a third time and jump him without even trying the potions. Then she'd go into a depressive spiral because she's a 13 year old girl who still believes in true love and has found out her's is one-sided. That would leave you with the option of depressed and suicidal Ginny or murderous yandere Ginny if you still want to bash her, but you could play the lonely little girl who still needs a friend if you don't think that those would make sense for a 13-year-old.
However, she didn't seem to make any sort of move, in that regard, as none of them saw her being furtive and none of them became suddenly sick. That did not mean, however, they weren't going to remain on their guard around her; especially when there was food or drink around.
