The author’s name is “beating wood”? What... “wood” are we beating... *cough* That aside, I think this novel is really just subpar at best. Like, at the beginning, chapter 1, of the book, the system basically gave all the players a auestion: What is 1 + 1? Is it... A. 471038482 B. 393018375 C. 89382929 ...... Y. 3 Z. 2 It’s so obvious what you should pick, yet some people still pick the wrong answer. You could tell me that 1 + 1 could technically be 3, and I’d say, sure, but 2 is still the best answer. It’s not like the system just assigned them a random answer, no, they could pick and they should be able to apply some basic logic and think, ‘Oh, that’s not the answer’. Like, do you not see the rewards that are being offered by the system gets better and better when you scroll down?! Wouldn’t this mean the best reward is at the bottom? But it seems that hundreds of people can’t even think this far?
Interesting story. Kind of a unique cheat in that it's only as good as he is at deciding what to pick. Requires some thought at least to pick out his own weaknesses when making decisions. The only problem is that so far the weaknesses are very apparent. I'm hoping that is just for the training stage and that we see the MC make some more mistakes with his choices (or at least have to think way harder to come to conclusions) once the game is no longer trying to prepare them to adapt to the new world.
I don’t see any real reviews. So, lemme try. Compared to recent trial reads, it’s not bad. But, that isn’t quite the accomplishment. The story is about the MC being brought into a weird trial video game and all he does is fight through rounds. The MC’s chest is that he gets to select his loot from the chests that drop. (Kinda like the digging novel) So, basically, he gets the highest and best loot drops possible. As the snynopsis states, his entry level gift was the best one offered. (Time out, PRIMORDIAL CHAOS skill is only mystic low tier. I don’t know of higher ranks, but I do know that low - tier isn’t the best of it’s tier. putting Primordial Chaos as low tier in its rank let alone at the highest rank completely shut me out. It simply tells me that the author simply doesn’t care. They put the biggest, most grandiose names they could think of and slapped them in. It screams lack of quality, let alone originality.) Minor spoiler, his enemies for the first few chapters are ducks. Then Kobolds. Then f’ing catgirls. I couldn’t read it. I’m assuming webnovel has no more novels to translate and if there was a barrel, rather than scraping the bottom of said barrel, cut a hole in the bottom of it and grabbed whatever god forsaken nonsense these latest trial reads are.

What is this terrible and awful translation after chapter 40? It is so disgusting how a decent Nobel was just ruined because of that, what is the editor doing. Remove this trash.
After chapter 40 the translation quality is the equivalent of google translate, it’s actually worse, that it becomes unreadable. The background and character buildup is solid, ”cheat” is not overly OP. Solid story ruined by terrible translation.

Things are very good for a while and a fun read but as soon as you hit chapter 41 the editing and translation quality drops to what you would expect from a 1st grader

So I’m not going to repeat what other negative reviews are saying but rather something that has been grating on my mind while reading after chapter 40 and is not exclusive to this novel but rather all ”officially” translated novels (some worse than others of course) but the fact that after chapter 40 all effort in translation quality disappears and thing like editor notations are left in, words are just not translated or changed to English equivalents, words or titles previously used will change sporadically, multiple words will be the same despite meaning two different things, and finally constant misspellings on simple words (previously spelled correctly) and in all just show a clear lack of care in the book due to the fact that most people who buy after 40 are already invested into the book and they blatantly take advantage of this.
Definitely one of the more interesting ones of this batch. I like the idea of this cheat, the MC doesn't have to deal with RNG in his item drops and rewards which is a clever way to make the MC Op and unique while still potentially allowing more tension than other similar novels have. I hope the concept is well executed because so far the author is mostly just writing setup
I was looking forward to this novel and I really enjoyed it up until chapter 41 where the quality just went downhill (random capitalization, sentences cut in half and its difficult to read) its such a pity because this idea has good potential
the other 5 star only writing quality is 2 star, the translate from free capter to paying chapter is getting worse, with a few word become different from free chapter it confused me a bit and i'm still in chapter 55 i don't know the rest
Pretty decent novel. Got a bit boring when he played army/kingdom simulator in one of the trials and then when the translation got worse I dropped it. At the start, it was very good but unfortunately it couldn't keep that quality. Dropped ch 124
Good premise, horrible everything else. I would give this novel a - 20 in world background if I could, as the novel constantly switches plot between them transmigrating into another world and them playing a vr game, and at one point, they even messed up the name of his cheat (which was in the title). The grammar is mediocre at best, and while this could be explained by translation, anyone who is able to read would be able to make this better novel by editing it for 3 days. I'm saying this at chap. 44, and the grammar is worse than chap.1, so while it could get better, it hasn't been doing so.
I want to give it a higher rating but the utter lack of regard the translator has for the author and readers of this novel are appalling. it seems like it's become a trend for the first 40 chapters of a book to be well edited and then for the ones past the free read to be straight mtl without any editing. Was an interesting read until chapter 41, so if you enjoy getting the middle finger for wasting time reading a novel only for the paywall chapters be straight mtl then this is the one for you.
Caution do not hype before release. Don't pre-order my friends. This novel is lika trailer. We haven't seen anything of the world this story will take place in. 40 Chapters only covers the trial period where the MC Gaines his cheat and subsequently builds up his advantages, we know nothing about the world, everything is very mysterious and of course the first contact with humans is negative, like there would ever be positive interaction without a crisis to force people to work together. It is not like there are other races which would gladly prey on the human race. Honestly the last few chapters where a major disappointment, first the MC is to quiet and acquiescent in dealing with simple humans who don't pose a threat, without even trying to gather information. It is like he foresaw what would happen but instead of using it, he ridiculed the opposition. This is especially jarring after he used his smarts and developed a very aggressive personality during the trials in the beginning. Even worse the author created a 'I am a bug, need to devour others to evolve' multi chapter sequence witch will probably never be mentioned again and only serves to give the MC abilities to progree the plot. This is a sign of bad planning and a wrong focus in pacing, which if I think back to the first challenge and just how much time was spent on it without any character progression or gain of information is characteristic of this novel. All those points are demerits, but no game breakers. This is a novel worth reading, but spending money on it would be foolish at this point. Waiting for it to be picked and after around another 40 chapters we might now if this is something worthwhile.
Is there a RAW title for this story? The story development is simple, but it enhances the meaning of hardwork by the main protagonist. The subplot mystery is also interesting by Ch. 25....
I like it. it feels a bit similar to a «hint» novel, a novel where the MC gets hints from a system to steer them clear of danger and help them find treasure. This system is somewhat different though. the similarity is that both of these systems lets the MC choose the best outcome of a situation, the easyest road to walk. The different thing about this system is that it lets the MC choose his drops regardless of drop rates, instead of choosing situations that could be both positive and negative. i guess i just find it charming. who wouldnt want to choose their drops? its the sacred dream of every gamer.
