장 13: Chapter 13

It was the fourth night Richard took the couch. He contemplated getting another room, but then, it would only irritate Cassandra more and blow his chances. She didn’t speak to him, hell, he didn’t even see her these past days. He’d go to work early to give her space, hit the gym and occupy himself with different activities. But he did order her breakfast each morning and made sure it was ready and warm when she got up, sent his driver to drive Cassandra around, made sure fresh flowers were delivered daily to the room awaiting for her when she got back, and always sneaked into the bedroom to kiss her head when she was soundly asleep. He never remember a time when he felt like this towards another human being. Being raised in the orphanage, then in the hands of Anatoly, he had lost all his humanity and all hope to ever regain it.
