It's pretty much an urban novel. Cultivation isn't really the main focus. There are too many untranslatable slang, metaphors, and cultural references so it's confusing to read. Personally, it's a no-go since I can't relate whatsoever to the slice of life aspects and the urban aspects make no sense to me.
seams like an interesting novel. but due to the way it is written, to really enjoy it, you would need to read the raws with knowledge of Chinese metaphors and similar things.
The translation could use a lot of work because while it may be understandable to people who have read a lot of poor translations, it is completely confusing and misleading if you don't have the experience. Also, a lot of the story is a bit strange with how people act. Also, it seems that it gets some of the timeings wrong with things in the wrong order.
I got pretty far, but be warned, there’s quite a few “dark” humor jokes. On the other hand, there’s no senseless violence anywhere in this novel.
It’s funny. A lot of anime and web novel references, some more cultural references. Mostly it’s guys talking or the MC trying to figure out the system. So far the system hasnt made him uber, just alittle better. It’s more inline with the comedy. It’s light hearted and silly.
I know most people will be confused by my rating but it's accurate due to my history of reading google translated novels and already aware of many Chinese & Hollywood trolling terms and history. If your knowledge of them is not upto mark, many jokes of this novel go way above your head. So, please don't give it a low rating, you guys will appreciate this novel maybe after few years.
