Slice of life story about running a pet shop with a bit of help from a "system" and a bit of push from rather smart animals with some extra quirks. One of my favorites, relaxed but I wouldn't call it slow. Likable characters all-throughout. And while the pets can get annoying, well, they're pets.

I'm putting this temporary review here. I just want to express my bafflement before an actual review. Basically the story is good so far, solid work, no golden finger tho (well he should have, but at the same time I have no clue, he rarely uses it that I've forgotten it exists) no systems, steady stuff which is fine. I'm just wondering why the mc is a transmigrator in the first place. He doesn't use modern knowledge to improve his system of cultivation or beast taming (at least not up to the chapter I'm reading) his personality doesn't conflict with the original body so there's no conflict with blending in the family. there's no conflict or exploration with the old and new world either besides the occasional mention of having a 9-5 lifestyle or something of that sort. basically, why is this a transmigration story in the first place? no system, no golden finger (not really) no modern stuff, no conflict with melding into the world, no exploration of the differences between the 2 worlds. I'll change my ratings more in the near future, just confusing.

This has been quite a solid read so far, though the caveat is I don't think this is for a lot of people. NOT that it's niche or something, it's just there's a group of people who always wants to mc to be on top, miraculously surviving everything. The pacing of the cultivation here is slow relative to a lot of other works where there's always magical spring or something something the mc steals, then gets in trouble. then blames the heavens, so on and so forth. Here the mc's cultivation is actually pretty fast relative to others, but if an ant becomes a beetle fast, there's still a lot of cats that rule the place so it's not like the mc can just beetle himself out of trouble so he finds a way to survive. It's somewhat realistic in my opinion which is for me really good. This makes me think of the other cultivate silently novel, forgot the title, but I do think this is more "colorful" and due to that, better than that story because the mc has more personality here, and because I also think the world has more detail here. The world background I would say is the "weakest" but it's only because not much is really revealed about the world. Though so far it's been enough for the purpose of the story. The characters aren't really "publish quality" but I don't think they're 2d. Not 3d, but at least not 1 or 2d. There's no main antagonist though, which could be a problem but here the main conflict is simply the world the mc finds himself in. There are larger powers and he must navigate them, he does what he can. 🤷‍♀️ There's also the mc's personality. He's not really battle oriented and this shows, this is also a realistic part of the story where he doesn't really (at least not for now) explore his golden finger for battle. But he's busy with his chickens and I do think he'll get there. So far I think this is worth checking out. It's been a solid read so far and I'll change some of my star allocation if I feel like it I suppose. tl;dr solid read, characters aren't 1d or 2d tho not really 3d. The mc has a personality and acts (so far) consistent to that personality. Situations don't really pull me out of immersion, the story, well, there's actually a story instead of the usual xianxia-isms, and I think this is worth a try.

I liked this, though I have only read up to about chapter 500 but I really like this. I'm assuming it's a translation, it's quite good work. (but it's been quite a while since I've read this) I remember that this work was cut above the usual and while that's not really saying a lot given the landscape of web novels, it doesn't change the fact that it is clearly above average. the characters are fine, they have motivations and their own personalities though there's not much complexity but complex characters don't make for a good story or a fun read. They are adequate and I have nothing to complain about. the world so far also has served its purpose with a lot more that we can expect (past chapter 500) so I'm looking forward to this.

it's a solid work, (as far as these things go anyway) it's complete too so it's definitely worth checking out! and as far as this subgenre is concerned this one is pretty good!

Great work! I have not yet found a webnovel of this length and quality, it's long too so it's incredibly consistent! The characters are not run of the mill and world building is great! The pacing is pretty decent too and the chapter release is worth a medal or two given the quality.

Amazing fanfiction! only minor problems with the translation but the story is gripping enough while still being mostly slice of life. My only gripe is that the daycare part isn't that detailed and mostly it's about the mc's adventures in order to have a better daycare, but it's still pretty awesome overall.
