I can only think he will be summoned in other situtations before Akira tames him, right now we only have one little teaser of his summoning. I expect he tames Mahoraga before/during Pain arc and at max during Five kage summit before Obito declares war.

A nice set up for the last chapters of this arc, some background for the antagonists was needed so that the don't feel to hollow. Good Sasuke characterization after his lackluster performance.
