I finished the raws (I kidnapped the timeline) through MTL. I think the MTL is pretty decent and not too hard to read. The total amount is about 800 chapters, it's finished. I don't know why some people are hating on it and calling the MC stupid. I actually liked the MC and I liked seeing everything he goes through and the progress he makes throughout each timeline. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a novel so much. I found it moving, and I cried multiple times throughout. Especially one arc, somewhere around chapters 600, where it follows multiple characters throughout the progress of Dawn City. Each character made me cry to follow their struggles and their thoughts and ideals for the future as they try to do their best for future generations. There are definitely some slower arcs that I didn't have as much interest in, but overall I highly recommend this. It was so moving to watch these humans struggling to survive, and stepping up to become heroes. "There is always someone who wants to stand up, why can't that person be me?"

Yeah, but I love these kinds of premises haha, plus this looks to be a western fantasy setting instead of the cultivation setting. At the very least I want to know the raw name as well.

In this case, it's likely that their parents are cousins. Usually in english cousin once removed will probably usually refer to the kid of your cousin (at least that's how I've normally seen it used), but in chinese, that's a niece/nephew relationship. Taking into account that he has a "brother" relationship with his cousin once removed it means they are in the same generation (same generation family members refer to each other as brother/sister), which means it's likely their parents are cousins.

Her husband was Wei Zhiqian's cousin once removed.

Well then that's your answer why she has to go to the kitchen for water. Cuz not every place has drinkable tap water and even then not everyone actually will drink tap water. Especially china, god, I never trust china's tap water. I always drink bottled water when I'm in china.

It's king if he was king of a kingdom under the empire. but usually if it's titled "wang" it's better to use prince as distinction, more so if he is a member of the royal family such as son of the emperor or a member that was titled by the emperor due to meritorious acts or whatnot. some translations use king but imo prince is better.

This is a review up to chapter 30 of the novel. Once again, I protest the decrease in chapters. But it seems like 5 chapters have released since yesterday, so idk if they plan on slowly releasing up to forty chapters? Anyways, like others have mentioned, this is in fact a similar premise to I'm Really a Cultivation Bigshot. I've read that novel up to 560+ in MTL and enjoyed it decently enough. I personally really like these type of novels, so I don't actually mind that they are similar. So far I'm enjoying this one and hope it gets released on MTL so I can continue reading. I do think that although they are similar, there are some points of difference that exist that make this one worth reading still. I like that he has a shop, for one. And in fact, so far, I think this one is slightly better written. I already like the MC in this one more than in Cultivation Bigshot to be honest. But well, that could also be a matter of personal preference. Anyways, who knows which one was written first, so instead of people giving low reviews and just claiming it's a copy, how about giving it a try without all that bias? I hope this gets selected for trial read.

I almost forgot, the novel is mildly racist too. Trash planet people are black (according to the novel, as a result of the planet radiation tho). There is a lot of mentioning how ugly it is because of their dark skin. Although this is definitely how Chinese think (pale = prettier) and in general how asian countries are and I never thought much of it before, it still sounds really racist with how much they mention it in the novel, especially when trash planet locals are straight up black people.

This is a review up to chapter 40 of the novel! I got a day of free reading chapters, so I took the opportunity to read this. It's quite fascinating. I really like the setting, especially the main character. Although I do wish he was a little crazier, I think he's quite a good main character, and I love the set up of his "family". I think the novel has similar vibes to plague doctor, or maybe also lord of the mysteries. In other words, it's good! I'm a fan of this and the expert by my side novel. I hope either one, or preferably both, get chosen for voting from this batch.

I forgot to comment before, but the translations are a bit weird. They translate Jiangcheng as river town and Yun Hao as Cloud Hao. They could just make a notation that Yun means cloud so it makes sense when translating his different aliases/the company name later but they insist on using Cloud Hao? Which is just strange imo. But aside from that, it's not too bad and is easily readable. Nowhere near MTL level like some people have commented.

This review is up to chapter 34 of the novel. I ran out of fast passes so it's only up to chapter 34! Very happy about the release because I was waiting for this since I read the synopsis for the sample reads! Sample reads are such a poisonous concept by webnovel, getting us interested and then not releasing the trial read version for months! It's quite annoying. That being said, the novel itself I think has an interesting premise, and so far it's pretty good (but ever since they reduced the number of chapters, it's become harder to judge the novel because there are so few chapters to read). All I can say is that it has potential and was enjoyable to read up to this point. Hope it gets selected!

Yeah, sure, people might kill over that amount, but it is definitely an amount that can be spent in a life time. You don't even need to be exceptionally luxurious and you could probably spend it in a couple of years! Buying a house could shave off a real good chunk of it alone. But most people when they come into what they consider "a lot" of money, will spend it all really quickly and go broke (I'm taking for example lottery winners). Imo the average person probably would not retire and live off of a million dollars - perhaps if they are lower income or come from a country where the standard of living is not as high as other developed countries?

"Little Brother, we can talk things out. I can give you 1 million yuan. No, 5 million yuan is fine too. You won't be able to use up the entire money in this lifetime!"

This is a review up to chapter 40 of the novel. It's pretty good. It has hints of harem (many beautiful female characters have appeared already... sigh), but it's not too bad. The MC is not the greatest I've read, but not terrible either. The main point is that the setting/system is quite interesting. So the other parts can be overlooked for that. It has potential. I won't say it's my favorite novel I've read, or my favorite trial novel, but it's decent enough. I don't have plans to try any of the other trial read. novels of this batch either (either they sound boring or the other reviews aren't good), so I hope this is the one that gets chosen. If you like farming novels, this might appeal to you as well, even though the MC is already stopping farming and handed it over to another character lol. But it appears as if that's the main plot of the novel so far.

This review is up to chapter 34. Ran out of fast passes. This is the exact type of setting I like, so it's not a wonder that I like it. The only thing is that even though there is potential, I can see it easily becoming repetitive/annoying due to excessive misunderstanding. That being said, so far the main character's personality doesn't seem to be too bad (aside from how he reacts to girls... I prefer a more cool type MC personally, but it's not a deal breaker). The other thing is that I hope to see his senior brothers and sisters improve. It would be great if what he said granted them epiphanies as well, instead of them just thinking it "sounds cool" or whatnot. So all in all, it was a fun read so far, promising setting, has good potential, and hopefully will remain that way. I have no intentions of reading the other trial read novels in this batch due to lack of interest, so this is the only one I'll be reviewing. As always, I hope the editors will select. I like that it's cultivation but not too cliche and has a unique twist, subverting tropes. That is my favorite type of cultivation novel.
