I’m reading ahead and damn, this FL and ML are both so........stupid. The FL easily falls for misunderstandings caused by others and the ML continues to fuel those misunderstandings. 🙄🙄🙄 View More

Actually, the daughter as a child was still able to tell that the ML was the main reason that she and her mother went through such hardship. She was actually a sensitive and impressionable kid who knew how to hold a grudge. She actually didn’t acknowledge him as her father for a really long time even when the truth came out. She pretty much snubbed him most of the time.

Instead, she acknowledged the doctor more as her father...until that same doctor pushed them away.

Also, at a really young age, kids can forget a lot of things when there are drastic changes in their environment. I already forgot a lot of the details but she was really young when she first went missing and she was missing for an entire year(?). In that year, she suffered a lot and so she forgot a lot about her childhood. She forget her mother’s face though she remembers that she had a mother who really loved her. When she was finally found, only the ML was around (the FL had amnesia at this point) so they gradually grew closer. View More

madhu1964: even if the FL was stupid and lacked self respect and accepted the ML back, as a child who was showered by lover her mother, she should truly detest the person who made the mother undergo so much, even though that person is her father. Why the hell did she accept him as her father......let him go to hell

The Chinese title is “早安,龍先生!”. I’m reading it on an app called “愛下電子書”.

(If you’re typing in pinyin, the story title is spelled as “zao an, long xiansheng” and the app name is “ai xia dian zi shu”.) View More

2300+ chapters in and I’m thinking of stopping where I am and just looking up spoilers instead.

The couple that I was rooting for not to have as much problems as the other 3 (FL + ML, FL’s best friend + ML’s best friend, and ML’s non-related sister + some other guy) now has a really big hurdle coming their way and I don’t know if I have the patience to read through all that.

There are also 2 other couples yet to be really explored into (the gay couple and FL’s older bro + his former GF), but I can already tell that they’re both also going to come across their own misunderstandings and heartache as well.

There’s just WAY too many problems going on and yet the author keeps adding more and more of them with too little relief in between each and every conflict. View More

I’m nearly 2000 chapters in and I thought it should be ending soon, but then I checked the list of chapters and it’s about 5000+ chapters!!!! 😵😵😵

Anyway, a lot of stuff goes and the author has a habit of throwing in ridiculous plot twists one after the other just to try to keep the story exciting enough to keep going.

Oh and the r*pe stuff continuously happens throughout the story. All or almost all of the good female characters I know of have been r*ped by their love interest at some point. Sometimes (though rarely) some of the female characters r*pe their love interests too.

I’m guessing that the author views this kind r*pe as though it were just bad sex. Bad sex can be unpleasant and lead couples into breaking up and yet can still be forgivable at times.

R*pe isn’t bad sex. It’s violation. It’s physical assault.

Gang r*pe / r*pe by a stranger is also often used in the story as punishment against female antagonists.

Other than that, there are also a lot of misunderstandings that occur throughout the story between all the different couples—and by a lot, I mean A LOT.

It gets a bit tiring to have to read though all the supposed betrayals, heartbreaks, jealousy and etc. Now I’m only continuing to read the story just so I can find out what’s going on behind the scenes—who are the real enemies? What are the real identities of these certain characters? Stuff like that. View More

I decided to go back and read the chapters I skipped about the failed first marriage and oh man, it really has you crying buckets of tears. I realize now that I shouldn’t have skipped this part as reading spoilers alone is entirely different from reading how it actually went.

Also, it gives you a bigger picture on how you judge these characters overall by the end of the story.

Is the ML redeemable based on the things he did to her? Most definitely not. He’s not a good person. It’s his merciless attitude towards his enemies that enabled him to be merciless to the one he truly loved. That didn’t really change by the end of the story. He is as he was in the beginning of the story; caring towards his loved ones and downright cruel to whoever he sees as an enemy.

The only difference is that he no longer sees XRX as an enemy later on.

XRX’s only fault in the beginning was that she didn’t know what it was to be loved the right way and lacked in self-love so she couldn’t have prepared herself for what happened. She was starved for love for almost her entire life that she couldn’t see CL’s schemes for what they were.

CL will suffer quite a bit later on at XRX’s hands, but her reasoning was understandable at the time and her methods (in my opinion) weren’t as heartless as his so it wasn’t really enough to justify everything. (Not to mention, XRX suffers so so so much right after that that you barely have time to think on it—though mostly at the hands of another antagonist)

I, however, will stand by my initial review in that I don’t blame XRX for taking him back at the end. There was just so much suffering throughout the story that I wouldn’t want to see her suffer more by holding onto grudges all the way to her grave and never letting herself love anyone else again (besides her daughter). I do wish there was a better love interest for her, but there wasn’t anyone else so...oh well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ View More

fr4nkie: I read the first 60+ chapters and read some spoilers and skipped ahead to somewhere around chapter 260+ and continued to read the rest from there.

This novel is pretty crazy. I skipped the truly heartbreaking parts in their first marriage but they went through a WHOLE LOT of other stuff after that that you just end up sighing and shrugging at the fact that they ended up together at the end.

By that point, you can’t really blame her. Only the person who was wronged gets to decide whether the other people has repented enough to earn their forgiveness. Different people decide differently. And it was several years before she actually decided to get back together with him.

And for them to get back together, it’s basically because they both had no intention of marrying anyone else and they can’t exactly cut each other out of each other’s lives due to their daughter needing both of them—and the both of them truly love and cherish their daughter. They were both getting older and older and it would have been quite lonely and painful for both of them if the FL were to live on while holding onto grudges.

Their getting back together was the FL deciding to give him one final chance...and it paid off in the end. (The story also contrasts this with another couple’s story which is similar to theirs, but in which the female was able to move on and get together with the second guy)

The male lead is a total scumbag. In fact this story is full of scumbags. So full of scumbags that it’s sometimes quite tricky trying to decide which one is the worst. It’s just that in life, some scumbags can change for the better for the right people. Don’t get me wrong—ML is still mercilessly cruel to his enemies (unless the FL or their daughter tells him to do otherwise), but he’s not entirely, unreasonably bad.

The real problem is with the author’s—as well as that of other authors with similar stories—lack of regard for how truly tragic and traumatizing rape can be for people as well as how in these stories, the female characters are always the ones who truly lead tragic lives compared to how the other male characters are treated.

The female antagonists get tortured or get their lives ruined due to the bad things they’ve done, but there were also a lot of male characters who did horrible things to other people, but you don’t really see them getting their just desserts.

That said, there is a certain cleverness in the way that the author created certain antagonists. Of course, there are still those who are villainous in a cliched way, but there are those that leave you with a foreboding dread for how these characters will turn out later on. There are also some antagonists who also turn out to be less antagonistic than some others and were able to move on with their own lives at the very end.

There are some unbelievable plots (of course), but they do keep the story interesting. I think it was somewhat rushed near the ending with the years quickly going by, but at least it has a happy ending.

He then wants to the child and she refused to give up the child. She then finds out that her child needs a kidney replacement. Also on top, she is indeed super heartbroken. I hope she leaves him and find love soon. #Confusing #heartbreaking

Hm, her daughter never needed a kidney replacement.

The mother of Chu Lui adopted an orphan and that girl needed a kidney.

Originally, the mother secretly tricked this other orphan girl to give up her own kidney, but because that other orphan was the FL’s daughter’s friend, the FL’s daughter took the place of the orphan’s place—not knowing that she actually had to give up her own kidney (she was only around 4 here, so she was still of course ignorant about these things).

By the time everyone knew what was happening, it was too late. The operation was done and they were unable to take back the kidney at the time because it would result in complications or whatever. View More

Ah nature vs nurture. Maybe it’s not about coming from a rich or poor family, but a person’s character can be affected by their environment growing up. If she had grown up with the Lin family instead, can you be 100% certain that she won’t turn out the same way? To say that one’s qualities is inborn would be oversimplifying it. View More

MichieWild: I don't really hate Lin Ran. I think her character makes sense. She's bitter and upset, and when she finally finds her family, they don't really want her. Is it wrong to blame Lin Nuan? Yes, but Ran is only human.

hehehuhu: I love how commentors are hating on Ran. She really doesnt know better but can you blame her? I guess she never listens, thats her fault. But the communication among the family is so bad. I mean, lets face it. Lin family wants Nuan not Ran. Nuan and Ran both know it. The former is trying her best to solve it, while the latter got tired of the treatment and figured, “my family doesnt want me? Fine F U all, imma do what i want”

Yeezus. If Lin Ran was the protagonist of this story, we’d all be accusing of Nuan being a white lotus and applauding Ran for chasing down her dream. We’re all bias.

Not really, but it depends on whatever it is that caused the story to be so long. Some stories are much longer than they seem only because it also delves into the stories of the other couples within the story—even when the main story is already finished. Other stories try to explore layers upon layers of plot twists to try to keep things going and keep things exciting—but sometimes those plot twists go off in a weird direction. Dragging out filler scenes can only do so much and I’ve pretty much grown accustomed to it as it’s done in most of the novels I’ve read so far, but even then I don’t think that’s enough to stretch a story beyond 3k chapters by itself.
