Yep its standard in these settings that Sword Cultivators are like that. They have more emphasis on that kind of dao heart essentially making the ones who use tricks or such weaker. So Sword Cultivators are more straightforward and in exchange for the lack of other means they have stronger combat ability(attack power) in the same realm. Do note straightforward doesnt mean good they can be evil as anyone else theyll just cut you down from the front rather than backstab you. So generally trustworthy cus they wouldnt bother acting friendly if they want you dead.

Such people were usually more straightforward and would not scheme against others.

Wait a minute Old Wang didnt die young but his achievements and cause of death are 'not authorized to view' with this info its hella sus. He mightve been working on projects with the Scarlet Research Institute which is why he wasnt killed early like others.

Now it makes sense why the Narrator said "That's a good idea, but reality is always cruel!" when he had the simple idea of just taking back improved version of cultivation technique over and till the future is saved. So Im assuming the zombifying cant be prevented as easily as just strengthening humanity so all hed be doing is increasing the strength of the zombies.

He couldn't figure out the reason regarding this change, so he didn't think too much about it. In short, only by entering the Star City database could he learn the historical changes of this timeline.
