BattleLord: Looks like this might be the end for our beloved villain Ves Larkenson. Stay tuned in folks, will our beloved villain get just just desserts at the hands of the Wild God, or the Red Tong leader with a sweet tooth for Head Mech Designers!?

In fairness you did ask bloatlor to spice it up, and nothing says spicy like surprise nonconsensual god on human action. No matter how in over thier heads the vandals are they seem to pull through so I expect no status quo change from this encounter, similar to the orbital bombardment and questionable nuclear explosions. I'm fairly sure we will find out if Ves' little pistol is enough to get 'er done. View More

BattleLord: For a major battle I am barely excited by it. Nothing really is new. The Swordmaidens rushing headlong into the battle? Seen it. Poorly maintained Mechs falling apart? As Ves stated, seen it. Wild Gods with unique powers? Not surprised any more. I guess I need an even more gruesome battle scene. Can we strap dwarf children to the outside of Mechs as human shields? That might spice things up. Launch dwarves across the battle field and have them spat with satisfying crunches and heads bursting like melons. At least Vs will be entertained.

Exlor, I am so desensitized to the atrocities you have written, I am reading this battle as I would a shopping list. I am giving you 2 stars for effort.

Konnect: Ves needs to really get his head out of his ass & be a lot more open-minded if he really wants to be creative & push the envelope. If Qilanxo can use a crystal then Bubal’s Wild God can & they can show him how to hook it up to the mech just like the Crystal Lord did, & the extra energy can go towards the crystal... He’s too stubbornly stuck to his current mental images for their own good. -.-

It wouldn't be bloatlor if he didnt take a convoluted path full of endless chapters of bloat while completely ignoring the more interesting side characters and plots a thousand chapters at a time. View More

We had an energy deficit for many chapters until the sick generator, depending on batteries and mobile generators the vandals brought with them to recharge power cells. I was under the impression that the mechs were walking batteries with electric kinetic motors and servos for propulsion, but apparently they now have engines and reactors on board. View More

BattleLord: Here come the Pirates, as I theorized. Not slaughtering the Natives and understanding how they have survived thousands of years on this planet was a lot simpler than reinventing the wheel, or rather neural interface. This chapter didn't implement dwarf brains into the Mechs and for that no turds. Working on the redesign is an improvement, complaining your Client doesn't embrace your first design and complaining is not embarrassing you Design Philosophy. As a Mech Designer you need to understand your customer. Some customers want more involvement and thus more frequent updates with sign offs by the customer to reduce the amount of waste.

I felt the story advanced a little so 1 star.

Ves wasn't interrupted much when he was exploding dwarf brains, yet now that hes fulfilling his role as head designer he can't get enough time to do his job. Are you kidding me? Ves of all people should have known to deligate. It's like rule number one when you're put in charge, even ketis got the short end of the stick disguised as a learning lesson. View More

Ah more mystic bull****. If spirituality was a thing it would have been a phenomenon well documented already. The fact that it's so prevalent through out the galaxy and its history yet no one knows jack about it is kind of hilarious. If Ves starts "cultivating" at the end of this arc or it turns out the secret to the longevity drugs was "cultivation" in like an eastern fantasy novels I will drop this and never return. I'm here for science fiction not hobo magic. View More

TheAbyss: Mighty Exlor, the creator, when will this deployment arc end? From the previous chapters/arcs, they normally don't last this long and me, like many of your fans are wondering when Ves will return to the chartered space? Will Ves make another new original design that will shake up the market or will he make significant contributions from this expedition that he gains access to more advanced or perhaps key technologies to journeymen and above mech designers from the kingdom?

Trash can mech, I wonder if this is the author venting at his critics who complained about ves not doing jack for design. Well hopefully this isn't a 150 chapter design arc like the crystal lord. View More

I could see them printing 1 or 2, but thier supply chain has to be limited in bulk materials they brought along to repair the already existing mechs and supply vehicles which has to be tiny. I don't see how it would even be feasible to start making a lot of brand new mechs. View More

I was so hoping we were done with the macabre that the story degenerated to for many chapters. I guess not. Some dwarf must have really offended Exlor that he can't help but make them suffer for it in print. The problem is that I am suffering from the garbage. Oh well, this did remind me of a scene from Young Frankenstein, a Mel Brooks classic.

Ves asked, "Chief, why does that brain look so familiar?" As Ves could sense something familiar about its Spirituality.

Leslie looked at Ves in surprise and replied, "That's lucky number 16 from your neural interface trials. We have been nurturing his brain ever since, even named him."

Ves's eyebrow rose as he queried, "Oh?"

Chief Dakkon continued, "His name is Abby."

Ves asked, "Abbey sounds like a odd name."

Leslie explained, "Abby Normal to be precise."

Ves with his 2.1 Intelligence could not recall any famous or influential individuals or even exceptional talented dwarf Mech Experts.

Chief Leslie Dakkon in frustration add, "Abby Normal, as in Abnormal!?"

Ves just shook his head in confusion as he walked away muttering, "I really never understood the appeal of 'short jokes'."

Leslie thought to herself, 'I seems the direct comparison between Abby Normal and Ves Larkenson was spot on.'

Zug: The whole spirituality concept. In this series has really bothers me right from its introduction. I prefer science fiction to be based in science, not mystic mythic magical bull****. The fact that this phenomenon is so wide spread yet is still "unknown" proves it was a crutch the author coughed up to give one more point of interest to make up for the system he all but abandoned later. At the end of the day what's easier to write about, technical details of a machine and its underlying concepts, or bull****?

BattleLord: Regardless how important Ves's work or knowledge is to the Flagrant Swordmaidens, the doctor(s) have a responsibility to the Mech Corps that employ them. There should have been pushback based upon his obvious deranged behaviour. Not once was this mentioned, even to offer mild treatment to reduce the effects of his growing psychosis. Similar to Captain Byrd, and her second Captain Orfan (a loon herself), they're all going to be held accountable for his actions. They are Pilots who are fully aware of the MTA regulations of messing with a neural interface and yet they all either assisted or let it happen.

The Flagrant Vandals might be a mission oriented faction of the Bright Republic Mech Corps, but the MTA and the CTA stand above their small Republics authority. If their organization as a whole has such little regard for the governing bodies of the galaxy why wait till they are out of the watchful eyes of those authorities to behave badly? Even after they witnessed an anti-matter detonation they still were not deterred from proceeding to violate the no-nuke policy of weapons of mass destruction.

The Flagrant Vandals should not be so blatantly violating the MTA and CTA policies. The pirates that launched 200 plus artificial meteors were only at the limits of using none weapons of mass destruction and were punished for it. Captain Byrd should have cut her losses and withdrawn before authorizing the use of a prohibited weapon. She should have considered alternative methods of forcing the Qilanxo to serve their cause. I am certain when they meet the other factions racing towards the Starlight Megalodon they will have employed alternative methods to control their Sacred Gods.

Finally thought, there was an excellent chance that there group was first to arrive. Why didn't they take advantage of that impetus to reach the Starlight Megalodon unopposed, retrieve what was required and exit the planet? Why delay so long as to loose that advantage and force a confrontation between one or more groups?

Captain Byrd has been in communication through the shuttles supplying their group up to now, so Major Verle is also approving of these policies and even if the astral winds are resulting in the ground expedition performing like loose cannons, the fleet was isolated at times mining a resource rich moon. His faculties should have been less effected if at all. Even as a member of Flashlight and part of Firestorm, he must realize the mission is tainted and a clean scrubbing is almost impossible. The CTA is going to investigate and take action against the Bright Republic and they've given them more than enough evidence to justify to the galaxy why the removed their planets from existence.

As for the MTA, they may not have the planet buster bombs, but they have First Class Mechs and Ace Pilots to bring the Bright Republic to its knees and ensure no other state defies their monopoly policies and practices. If the Ultracompact battery example offered by Ves is the guideline businesses use to prevent new technology from competing with established methods, then Ves's neural interface will never see the light of day except under MTA license.

The Skull Architect made one small infraction when he murdered an Expert Pilot and as a Senior Mech Designer he is living in exile for the rest of his life. I am certain at Ves's trial, he will offer up doctored copies of Ves's collusion and possibly extortion (I'm just guessing) evidence to plea bargain modification or abolishment of his exile. Even if Ves gets off for his crimes, there's an opportunity for the Skull Architect to hitch a ride out of exile as well.

I am actually curious to read Exlor's spin on this bloody debauchery. Does it turn into a heroic tale of misadventure and epic treasure finding. Possibly a tale of the birth of a renowned Junior Mech Designer who revolutionized the Mech industry with living Mechs and neural interfaces with allow Mech Pilots to be one with the Gods.

While I perceive the light at the end of a very dark tunnel, I reserve my optimism. Ves is a certified "loon!", and I don't understand why everyone seems to be taking direction from Ves. When did military doctors answer to civilian contractors? 🤦‍♂️ I forgot, this is the future of mankind where even the military is subcontracted out to itself. Now the circular logic makes sense... or not.

I can't really call him a civilian contractor. He did sign a contract, but he was also forced into service by the states coercion to serve time in the military. It's like S. Korea's citizens must serve for 2 years between the ages of 18-35 because thier compulsory military service laws. Ves did a boot camp, he was a grunt, and was intended to be a cog in the machine. I feel hes now more like a grunt forced into a career officers position because the operating organization had no other option. I don't see a civilian contractor as someone who would go to war on an operating military ship deep past enemy lines, being in command of other servicemen, or holding the responsibility of the success of the mission like we see with Ves. I agree with Ves's assumption that the medical staff are useless. They should have long ago removed Ves and obviously most of his team from duty due to mental illness. Captain Byrd is very relax about the implications Ves's research will have on her career. I think they will give Ves the most expensive life extending procedures before putting him in a coffin and launching him into the void between galaxies.
