A simple man, lacking in knowledge, but quick of wit. He is flung into the future, where everything is different. Now, he has to make a name for himself, carve his own path in life. He decides to play a game, the biggest one in the world. A strategy game, focused on tactics, used to select the top managers of the largest international corporation. Now, he has to prove his mettle and earn a place for himself in the future... Watch as he enters the competition, chooses his class, creates an army, and shows everyone in this new, future world the spirit of a player from the 2010s. Will he be the champion in the end?
Dan’s first tournament may have ended, but life goes on. His luck is still with him in his regular life as well, and it seems to be endless. However, he is surrounded by very smart people, and surely one of them is going to start doubting his talents, at least a bit? Especially now, with a new game about to start. The latest foes are even more dangerous than the last and the rules are still unfamiliar to him. Dan wonders how reasonable the rules are in the first place. Is it really possible to take a competition that lasts a couple of hours at most seriously? A competition in which you are supposed to work together with simple monsters in order to destroy the enemy base? And so, the story of an ordinary Russian guy who suddenly found himself in the future continues, and another battle between his luck and the rest of the world is about to start. Who will come out on top?
They lied, they lie, they will lie. This world is built on deception. Vasily entered the store that fateful evening and became involved in a life-or-death game arranged by a mysterious creature. He survived, but instead of on Earth, he now appeared to be in a different world, with other people who had passed a similarly deadly test. Some made it by using force, some by using their cunning… Everyone has their own story, but they all have one thing in common — there are no good people among them. The world of Karik turned out to be like a game. In it, one can level up, grow stronger, even resurrect in case of failure. But if one makes a mistake of believing the wrong person, they will die for real. Will the magic that Vasily needs to conceal, or maybe his patron, who seems incapable of telling the truth, help him? Who can say?
The world has been saved; life is beautiful and everyone loves and appreciates the hero, even though they put him in some godforsaken place. To keep him safe, or so they say... But it's too boring there! Only at first glance, however, because entertainment can be found anywhere and the street phase of the world tournament, Battle of the Champions, is just the right thing to pass the time, especially if some divine gifts are taken into consideration, which, regardless of his unique strategic and tactical talent, seriously complicate his life. This is a new challenge for an ordinary guy from the year 2010 who has found himself in the world of the future... Will he still be the champion?

SteveJ: nobody is innocent or weak... Damn i like it. btw i love how mc gather truths from small detailWorld of Karik: A Game of Villains · C97
HalonFox1: I thought that was purely conjecture from vasily dang it can still besaid that they can return or retether whatever connection to the detachmentWorld of Karik: A Game of Villains · C97
Chaoticmike: Wow the plot so far took a very unexpected twist, how come it feels this is going to be the ending of book one.World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C96
HalonFox1: Ok wow i feel like i should have been able to put that together so thank you for your patience but he's was only a man a powerful man but a man none the less no i felt no mention of being godly or otherworldly from his description which is contrary to how the main character was transported ill will coincide that abbadons name is definitely a fake because there doesn't seem to be a need for prayer or worship towards one patron nor any need for identification lest the gods something from have these fellows slay level garbage monsters and the likeWorld of Karik: A Game of Villains · C93
epion: Protect the orb! By running away after showing the enemy where it is! Genius....World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C93
Bibliophileaddict: Well we can’t rule out that Nomenos is still around. After all, the immortal patrons survived the Abyss, and we have no idea what they are or how they came to be. For all we know anyone can become one with enough time. And even if he isn’t a patron (and if he is one he is probably “Abaddon” but that is my theory), depending on when this “system” with stats and such cane to be, it isn’t impossible for him to be around. After all, the scary badass old man who is hanging around that hidden monolith is still alive and kicking even though he should be dead if he lived so long so “lifespan” in this world is possibly endless assuming you aren’t killed, cursed, or what have you.
Of course we can’t say for certain that Nomenos isn’t dead either, but I think it would be more interesting for the “world ender” to still be around with his own plans (especially since such an ambitious and competent, even considering he accidentally messed up the world he still made an empire with his own hands and was doing fine until that point, guy would be very interesting).World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C93
TheLIME: Well this certainly cleared up some of my points earlier.World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C94
HalonFox1: Suddenly all of this makes sense and also now vasily needs to buckle down and read some history books or somethingWorld of Karik: A Game of Villains · C94
Grimthorn: Poor cat being ostracized out of the kool kids club. 😂World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C95
TheLIME: Hooo boy! Its about to get real in the next chapters. Can't wait!World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C95
Bibliophileaddict: Well this question is basically biased on whether the asker “likes” or has a use for you (it isn’t like the trolley problem or whatever). Basically as long as it even barely fits, as long as Dorea gives the ok, then it is fine (her word is law).
We know Vlada is one and Igor assuming there isn’t someone we haven’t been introduced to arrives. The “apprentice of the Reaper” is either Hunger’s or Polina’s as only those two operate in this area (we would at least know the names of the others if they were nearby).
As for the Chaosites, I am uncertain what that even entails, but if I were to guess it is either what those who follow a certain heavenly patron or a classification of patrons (like one category could be called chaos gods and another could be order and so on; but I doubt Chaos has any relations to the Abyss and the Abyss is probably its own thing), or ones who follow a certain “code” or group.
But in terms of “danger” (not necessarily combat power, but more of the consequences of MC failing) I believe the Abyss is 1st, the Reaper’s follower second and the Chaosites are hard to judge as we know so little but they are tentatively 3rd if for no other reason than the fact they are novices and Dorea felt the need to describe them with that.World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C91
Or maybe Power?
(Welp too many wrong answers, probably, off with my head.)World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C90
HalonFox1: I think its either light, darkness, or time but most of those work tooWorld of Karik: A Game of Villains · C90
TheLIME: Well didn't expect the Elephant. But this does remind me of the Hunter x Hunter reference where there was no right answer on who shall one save first. On this scenario though time is very limited.
Also, I wonder who were the three, must-be-important creature/race/human coming. The Dungeon Bosses? The Administrator? So many questions with so little information. Sucks to be somehow clueless like Vasily, but this is also fun as we get to experience his hardships in a way.World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C91
Franco98: thanks for the chapter!!!!!!!!World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C91
Bibliophileaddict: Since there isn’t a specific skill that implies corruption or “marking” I believe it is safe to say it is a passive trait all abyss element creatures possess (we also found out abyss is an element and “order” seems to be one too, so hopefully Mc finds an order based spell book lying around here or an abyss one that doesn’t end up corrupting).
But they probably hit the jackpot with that mysterious glowing thing that is able to keep them at bay (it is probably something related to “order” since they don’t like it and recoil from it no matter what they try.
And to state the obvious, damn these things are OP and they would be even worse if they weren’t limited by needing light to manifest and attack (they are like “mobs” you would find in the last boss dungeon and they would probably be really bad if you didn’t have any order thing).World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C89
Bibliophileaddict: Considering this place seems to specialize in and be vulnerable to mental manipulation (and I guess mark of the abyss could be considered a curse or something), it is an ideal location for Polina Lyutova and uncomfortable for Hungers.
It could be that Osipov seems so strong (he is definitely strong, but not as invincible as he seems if more info and a plan is made) as the entire forbidden city probably has some kind of “mental resistance debuff” which would definitely help being able to use illusions on so many people (even MC). Or maybe this place enhances mental manipulations? We’ll see I supposeWorld of Karik: A Game of Villains · C87
TheLIME: Dungeons huh, then maybe a dungeon core that would specialized or has high intelligence and magic resistance. It can either be a heart/object or a person who is on the depths of the dungeon like any other games would pertain about dungeons.World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C87
Whatareyoulooking: The old man has been there for 853 days not years.World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C85
Bibliophileaddict: I’d imagine he would be under Polina Lyutova (the reaper who can control minds) since he showed illusions and is able to dominate others will and such or one of the other unknown 5. After all, since David Jones Jr. knew only their names (and info seems to only spread via word of mouth as there doesn’t really seem to be internet or postal service; at least in the beginner areas), it is reasonable to suspect that they (Howard Hungers and Polina Lyutova; though I doubt Reapers are very social with one another and may even be more hostile as “peers are most wary of peers”) are most active in this area and the other 5 are elsewhere.
It also seems probable that Reapers are able to “teach” (or perhaps lend depending on if they can take it back at any time) their followers lesser versions of their powers as I doubt this new Petrovich guy (since Mc thinks his face is familiar maybe he is related to the Petrovich back at camp?) asked his patron for powers of illusion/mental domination.World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C85
FeatherClown: I still don't understand what is going on with their names. The necromancer's name is Victor Osipov but he introduced himself as Petrovich same with the other old man who introduced himself as Valerianovich ? Is it some type of title they use to differentiate between people from different generations ?World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C85
Nebula97: I love this novel ..................................................................................................................................................................World of Karik: A Game of Villains
Bibliophileaddict: Semyon was probably a “bad cop” who abused his authority or a “good cop” who didn’t follow the rules to get “results.” In any case, since he ended up here he is sketchy just like anyone, but he may be less sketchy than others (at the very least he isn’t crazy, a control freak or will stab you for no reason).World of Karik: A Game of Villains · C82
