MondSemmel: Haha, this chapter is a prime example of the storytelling trope of the Unspoken Plan Guarantee. From TV Tropes: "The chances of The Plan succeeding are inversely proportional to how much of the plan the audience knows about beforehand."

Last chapter, we learned about Ince Zangwill's plan in advance, so there was no way it would entirely work out. Conversely, in this chapter, we discover that Klein has been planning offscreen, which increases the chance that his plans *will* work out.

The beauty of this situation: adhering to this trope is not just good storytelling; it's also a good strategy in-story due to the passive detection ability of 0-08.

Alessan: Klein’s wealth is truly growing at an absurd rate. He has over 17000 pounds cash (though he is in debt 6000) and ~80000 pounds worth of items before including some of the more difficult or impossible to price items (Dark Emperor Card + Sea God Scepter + Grosselle’s Travels + Luck Siphon Charm + New Ruby Ring + Wraith Senor). Just this one hunt alone made him at least 10000 pounds and likely closer to 20000 if the ring is as powerful as I believe. Less than a year ago he was debating whether or not he could afford an extra Soli to get a nicer cane.

It’ll also be interesting to see if he learns anything interesting from the Interrogator he promised to release from Creeping Hunger. At minimum I imagine he will gain a few more formulas including the Interrogator formula and characteristic. It is likely Xio will eventually purchase both of these (800-1000 pounds + 1200-1800 pounds = ~2400 pounds) even if she currently can’t afford to do so. Perhaps he will have her do something(s) for him instead as he isn’t strapped for cash right now, but I can’t imagine what.

I’m somewhat curious about Xio in general as she has been hovering around the edge of the story for awhile now. She already has a connection to The Fool and has been somewhat close to MI9 Gold Mask demigod for awhile now so something has to happen eventually.

Curious about the ruby ring, looking forward to the island exploration and hoping he trusts Audrey enough to have her help Dwayne Dantès climb the ladder in high society. Tracy should be interesting too. A great future awaits us :)

TalenX: It's even clearer when you read the second volume "Get off my Lawn, Advanced Theories in Compressing Time and Space". The third volume "I'm Literally Eating Lunch Right Now, Interplanary Conflicts in Non-Dimensional Spaces" isn't quite as good but I do highly recommend the fourth book "I'm Filing a Restraining Order, How to Teleport Your Wizard Tower off of the Material Plane for Obvious Reasons".

Alessan: Of all the Sequences we’ve learned until this chapter I’m fairly certain the only beyonder power Fors could have used is Sequence 5 Druid of the Planter Pathway. I had originally thought about Sequence 8 Beast Tamer but it doesn’t fit for two reasons. In Balam Darkwill needed to ask his owl what he saw out loud and Windsor Behring would have most likely noticed being a higher Sequence of the same Pathway. Somewhat interesting that Fors was willing to use something so valuable on merely a chance of only 100 pounds, but I guess being in debt really sucks.

Alessan: Marionettist? Is that a name change for Nimblewright Master? Personally I would have preferred Puppeteer.

Ozwin: *insert mass exodus of pirates*
As soon as they see their ships “Set sail! Set sail!”
“What do you mean set sail?! Where is everyone who went ashore?”
“Leave them to die! Sparrow is right behind me!”
*Pirates immediately pull away the plank and start getting the ship in motion*
“I’m not on the ship yet you bastards!”
“””He is after you not us! Stall him long enough for us to get away!”””
*repeat scene with minor variations in other locations*

Dex2: The problem is that it seems someone (representing themselves as Mother Tree of Desire) has taken the spot of godhood of the Prisoner pathway and corrupted the members to do things that are opposite to their ideal acting thus turning the organization into an evil one. Just like Primordial Moon has done for the Moon pathway.

It sends shivers down your spine. If an evil or mad sequence 1 takes control of something important in your pathway then starts affecting everyone of that pathway esp low sequencers.

We also see what the Hidden Sage is doing. In the far future when Klein gets to sequence 2 or 1, we'll be happy to see him beat up and hopefully kill those like the Hidden Sage. Hehe, if he kills him and keeps the sequence 1 characteristic, no one would be able to become a true god of that pathway unless Klein gives them the characteristic

Randompasserby: Eeyup.
Wonder when and how they set their sight on him...

And "which" him? Klein Morretti who raised himself up from the dead, Sherlock Moriarty who killed their operatives and stole their artifacts, Gerhman Sparrow who's becoming more and more infamous recently or Zhou Mingrui the Otherworld's Fool? 😅

Pick your poison ☠️☠️☠️

ronald13adrianto: The Hermit is a seeker for the knowledge that comes from within. A lonely wanderer in the path of the night, he searches for that which can only be gained with long periods of solitude - the inner voice. To hear it, he must disconnect from the crowds whose voices and desires threaten to overcome his own. He walks through the dark night of his unconscious, guided only by the low light of the northern star, with his destination being his home, his self.
The hermit's appearance in a reading can also denote the appearance of someone who will come to your life that will be your mentor.
When reversed, you are perhaps in a situation where you'd like to be alone; there is nothing wrong about that. However, there is a possibility that your seclusion may become harmful to both yourself and others. Though the Hermit sets forwards with noble intentions to search for his inner truth, his path inward may also be filled with great danger. Going inward may lead to madness and the abyss, for the unconscious is filled with images that he may not yet understand, lurking and waiting to lure you ever inside. Like a man that gets lost in his own dreams, the hermit may find himself stuck in a world of his own, alone, trapped, unreal. You must learn to balance your need for truth with connection to your fellow human.
When it comes to work, the hermit reversal meaning refers to your preparedness to get to the bottom of something that has been troubling you for quite some time now. There is searching to be done, and it will be your responsibility to ask the question that will allow the other people to understand the circumstances

Randompasserby: Lmao so the Mandated Punishers are pretty much this universe' bunch of Leeroy Jenkins 🤣

How fitting.
Alger's type of sly old dogs must be a rarity in the church.

SaintBookwormLich: I like that Klein’s Mr Fool honored his word, to me the most important characteristic a divinity must have is being loyal to they word/promises. Only the evil entities or demons and devils would use subterfuge to avoid fulfilling with they word... either if is for good or bad a god/divine entity must honor it word... that’s kind of the esoterics I love with supernatural entities.

Dolores_Haze: Someone should make this into a mmorpg: When you roll a new character you can choose which God to believe in - if you choose one of the orthodox churches you may get a chance to join the Nighthawks/MPunishers/MHiveminds later on. If you choose an evil deity you will get hunted as soon as you get exposed... You start out as a common human being. You might hunt monsters for characteristics or buy your first potion once you have saved up enough money. Or if you serve the church or a secret organization they might provide you with a potion of you proved yourself. The common laws of the beyonder world apply. That means that there is a set amount of beyonder characteristics in the world (first held by NPCs or monsters, who do not respawn!) and if a Player wants to reach the really high sequences he will probably need to hunt other players of the same path. There will be to be some kind of way to determine how well you act according to your portion, e.g. assassins need to kill, sleepless will only digest their potion during the (ingame) night, spectators will improve if they frequently observe others without being noticed. Players should be indistinguishable from NPCs unless they give themselves away. Although they might get locked into an asylum and get experimented on by the Psychology Alchemists if they shout that this world is fake and the Players are the only human beings...
