Whisperwinds127: Ah I completely forgot about this issue. For mistranslated names, it's a sign of badly scripted machine translations that got edited later.

Which reminds me of another translator that has raised an issue about this and this is his/her quote:

"Machine Translation vs Human Translation

Why is MTL so bad for your brain? Here is one example:

This text is from a machine translation:

The most dead nature is the members of the Japanese gang who bought the ancient Kevin. They charged the dragon ice like a group of sheep attacking the lion. The blast rifle in the hands of Dragon Bing is comparable to a sniper rifle. It has an effective range of two kilometers and a recoil of almost zero. It is not comparable to the poor pistol in their hands. Not to mention the combat literacy. Usually they bully and bully the ordinary people. They can face the elite agents of the 101st Bureau of China. They are not a level opponent. A wave of charges ended, and when they woke up, more than a dozen bodies were left on the ground.

Let’s assume that a human is going to edit the text for a post-MTL version. Let’s also assume that this human doesn’t understand the source language and is going to just edit the result of the machine translation. I’m going to do a rough edit of the text above to simulate this.

Now with post-MTL editing (of a non-professional who has not been trained, which is almost always the case with Chinese web-novel translations), you’ll get this:

The most dead, naturally, were the members of the Japanese gang who had bought Old Kevin’s loyalty. They charged towards the dragon ice like a group of sheep attacking a lion. The blast rifle in the hands of Dragon Bing was comparable to a sniper rifle. It had an effective range of two kilometers and a recoil of almost zero. It could not be compared to the inferior pistols in their hands, not to mention combat knowledge. They usually bullied ordinary people. They could face the elite agents of the 101st Bureau of China. They are not opponents of the same level. A wave of attack ended, and when they woke up, more than a dozen bodies were left on the ground.

And here we have my translation:

Most of the deaths were of the thugs Gu Kewen had hired. They charged at Long Bing like a flock of sheep trying to battle with a lion. The Gust assault rifle in Long Bing’s hands was better than a sniper rifle. The recoil was almost zero, and the range was not anything her poor opponents would be able to win against with handguns. She was also much more versed when it came to battle experience. The thugs usually bullied normal folk, so they were no threat at all to an elite agent of China’s Bureau 101. After the blast of gunfire ceased and they awoke from their terror, they found the ground littered with over a dozen bodies.

TLDR; PLEASE SUPPORT HUMAN TRANSLATIONS."

LiamTigh: WRONG.

Mag and Mamy are both lifted from Google translate, which can't distinguish between a phonetic approximation of a western name and a nonsensical term, so it renders "麦格" as variously "Mag," Meg," "Maige" and "McGonagall" because it's a non-sentient program that can't make these distinctions.

"麦格" is pronounced "Mài gé," which is best transliterated to "Michael" or "Mike." There's no such thing as a "McGonagall" in Mandarin Chinese, since that's a Scottish/Irish surname rather than a term for something.

So yeah, Translator is a lazy twat using Google Translate for most of the heavy lifting, then probably editing so it's not an abortion of the English language.

Mgl1206: For those of you guys there is a translation up to 160 and no it’s not illegal. It’s the group that were translating this story before this group here forced them to stop and they started from zero instead of where the story was so imma wait a few months and be back.

CanaryWO: This isn't true, go read what the definition of a thesis is. Hint: Theory is a synonym of thesis. While it's true that you have to write a thesis to get certain degrees, that's not their main purpose. An essay isn't something you write for a literary exam, but in a literary exam you may be required to write one. Same thing. So the translator isn't wrong here.

ListlessDaoist: I JUST realized what the system is trying to do, and why there's Trash ranked rewards!

If one was a real genius, or scheming one at least. Then one would realize that the 'Trash' rewards are infact things that are considered easy and not at all advanced too far.

Meaning if one tried, with luck and patience, could possibly use the rewards to father themselves by simple replication!

Snapplemonkey: It's taking a real world situation, and turning it into a math equation so you can calculate results and predictions. For example calculating how many busses you need on a route. You need to know how many people live on and near the route, if there are any schools, malls or other venues that attract more people on the route. You take all that data, add ot to the model, and if the model is accurate you'll be able to calculate how many busses you need.
