Most Level 2 wielders wouldn't even be able to touch a Level 3 wielder, while MC was able to fight with Level 3 wielders and Level 2 cognizants when he was a recently evolved Level 2 wielder. Let me also add that, while dual wielders are generally more powerful than regular wielders, this is in the late game. Remember that Level 2 wielders merely possesses two parts of their full power. Dual wielders aren't exempted to this. It's simply been too long since Hayden has gotten new powers.

MC is still Level 2 here. It only makes sense that MC will feel danger from a Level 3 dual wielder. Also, Danger Sense encompasses many different kinds of danger and is an instinct-type Innate Gift. Remember that instinctive Innate Gifts are inexplicable even to their users. Danger Sense works in a way more complex way than you may think and is pretty much unpredictable.
