oh my, thank you. I just found it frustrating to look up everything when needed to visualize it and as someone that likes history, I just kind of did add the pictures. It's great that they helped. I'm thinking of re-re-reading it and adding the ones I forgot or stopped at, because it got tedious.

what you said is true. My first time was only painful at the beginning because of the tension and that one can bleed from other timed that are not ones first is also true, especially if you are sore after doing it too much. It's can be really painful.

this is a pole axe. the spear part is not as long as a halberd but can also be as long. the head is in the typical shape of an axe and is also used for striking. it's shape is more that of an executioners axe and on the backside of the axe is often a hammer or pick/Thorn to penetrate armor or helmets while also inflicting blunt trauma. this is a Halberd and is mostly a flat axe type or angled back towards the user. the spear part is longer than a normal pole axe and the blade part can be used for striking but also to damage the pole of other pole arms by pulling towards yourself. you can also use this motion to disarm you opponent

from what I know the thing that is described here is a poleaxe. It's similar to a halberd and often people think they are the same when technically they are not. Yes, a Halberd is way more defensive than other pole arms, there the author is right. I will put pictures in the comments so that you can see the differnce
