With this being China? Yes. You'd be seen as spitting in the face of a "top doctor in the world" as a not doctor and not peer. Unless he delicates out procedures, (spoilers: he doesn't) the only one you're calling incompetent is him. Are you trying to tell me that his fabulously rich parents didn't start with the best doctor they could for their cash cow?

Now, I hate the teacher as much as y'all, but at least he did change his mind rather than stubbornly sticking to his original, foolish decision.

They had made this suggestion earlier and even said the same thing to Del. informing him there might be more danger up ahead. Still, he decided to progress anyway and now he was saying travelling upward was a bad idea.

The Good: The editing rarely makes mistakes and the writing is straightforward. The story moves along at a pace that laughs at the slow pace Chinese stories love. The author seems to have a vision and is writing it. The Bad: We're definitely in wish fulfillment territory. The thing that seemed to take the longest was the MC getting his system. The MC borders on leaning on his plot armor and the 4th wall intentionally. Everything is kind of canned otherwise. Dateless loser? Quest to get one. Best friend shows up and immediately offers up his sister. Lots of things are explained by info dumps. The system is so helpful that the MC doesn't have to be smart. Multiple times the MC is in danger or is greedy and with a smile and raise of the hand, the system or the world bend to his will. I have put food effort into reading this, but even I have to stop after a few chapters to give myself a break. I've never seen MC struggle to overcome something and by now, I'm kind of tried of looking. The characters are uninspired. The author, as far as I got, worked too hard showing us that their talent was wasted telling instead of showing. Most of the author's weaknesses are in their interpersonal and cultural understandings. The greatest moment I encountered in the story, where the author was showing their spark, was when the FL spoke French. It was an opportunity for many things, but many, if not all, were wasted. The MC apparently spoke French too, a dead language, in the future, in an area with predominantly Chinese names. It could have been a moment to show the MC having a gap in his knowledge, and thus himself, or to use his skills or the system to overcome. Instead the MC was too cool for human weakness and was perfect. Yay. My final conclusion is that while I look forward to the growth of this author, I'll be looking forward to their next book, rather than more chapters of this one. Whomever their editor and proofreader is, they have my praise and I hope the author realizes the blessing they have.

It's something of a status indicator when someone switches language for the conversation partner. Whomever switches is taking the lower status, usually out of respect. With this being a place of service, to the plebeians, it's fine to make them speak French instead of Chinese, but for any guest, honored guest or VIP, this would be a major breach of status, forcing the guest to submit to the servant. I understand that this may be used to show the humility of the FL but if so, it shows that she doesn't understand her status or place.

Material exemption is usually a mixed bag kind of trait. Rituals and spells that need materials usually have them less for the spell and more for the caster. Imagine that you need something to represent the "aggression" in an offensive magic. You could do a funny interpretive dance, describe the damage and method in the chant or you could outsource it to a material like an arrow or a predator's tooth or claw. This trait usually lets you skip those steps by just passing mana instead. Everyone initially thinks this is fine, but when there's a +80% or higher cost, suddenly having something on hand to cut down on mana consumption is wise.

"Yes master, although you could buy it in the system, both of these are two of the most expensive things to buy. This talent actually allows you to control the flow of mana, which means you could cast the spells of the ancients, the elves, and other races. However please do not be reckless, at least wait a little bit until you can at least cast level 4 or 5 spells with ease. As for magic material exemption, it is pretty self explanatory, but basically you do not need supplies to supplement or even cast your spells." Yang said calmly but cautiously.

With the amount of extra things Yang has to say, I'm reminded of the greatest magician I've ever known: Uncle.

Also one more thing, I recommend doing some missions for coins later in order to buy the equipment for all of these skills, and lastly, I wanted to let you know, you are truly blessed. It seems you were the rare one person in a millennia to be born with the 'magic control' talent, however if that was not enough already, you also got the 'magic material exemption' talent" Yang said, trying to give Yue at least some good news.

The one guy is relatively dead though. Even with medical tech improving, a crushed brain is essentially soup.

Right as the man turned around, Yueliang was refocused and threw a right punch at the mans face. This time not holding back. Once it landed, everyone in the room heard a loud bone breaking sound as his skull got punctured and his brain squashed inside his head, causing blood to spurt out a lot. Then he went on to the next one faster then before, taking down each of the remaining five subordinates with one punch to the chest to make it difficult to breath. If they did not stay down he broke their back just enough that they could not move but could be fixed at the hospital easily. As these days even if they were paralyzed it is easily fixable, as technology has advanced so much.

Right? There would be at least a waiting period of observation. Most people don't go on dates day after day, it's easy enough to pay off a potential suitor and underline it with a threat the next day. The author has kind of been cramming the story rather than growing it organically.

Yueliang punched the next man in the kidney light enough to not cause internal bleeding, but heavily enough to cause severe pain. Then threw a chop at his throat to stop him from speaking, however did not collapse his throat so as not to kill him. The man then fell to the floor like the last, and Yue disappears once more reappearing behind the next one, however unexpectedly he was ready for him and the next guard stabbed him in the stomach right as he appeared before turning around to face him. Yue's blood was spreading on his clothes quickly.

Meanwhile, the soldiers on the walls were cheering seeing their sworn enemies leaving with their tail tucked in between their legs. This was easily one of the sweetest victories they had ever gained on the border.
