Judging just the story, red mtl till 156. First 100 chapters were really good, but after that it went downhill pretty fast. Anything done by MC needs a a few paragraphs for people to be shocked, surprised by how awesome he is or simply underestimate and comment on how he is not deserving his reputation and so on, at that point it was more frustrating than enjoyable to read. The novel is quite popular in China, so maybe this is what chinese readers prefer, or author made some good changes in his writing as latest chapters are 400+

Solid 3, neither good or bad, author is newbie. Review based on raws till chapter 171. The ability is not explained well in synopsis, his ability is acctually giving birth to Bodhi trees which have special abilities and first one being Black Jade Bodhi which results in creation of special effectc after mastering 100% proficiency, in the raws there is already second Bodhi tree and conditions for thrid one as well. Contrary to some comments I would say his abilities are overpowered just with Detoxification, Rejuvenation he is able to dominate in newbie village with difference in realms, but as there is more contact with prefecture level his advantages diminish making him comparable with prefecture level genius in terms of combat strenght, but nothing over the top like defeating enemies two-three big realms that are also genius which I think is a good thing, his abilities from first Bodhi tree result in a strong support and high survivability, abilities from second Bodhi tree are also more of a support type which will help MC bridge the gap with other geniuses. For now nobody gives him too much attention as realm progresses support from family/sect/school becomes crucial, so MC is underestimated. Regarding a comment that mentiones his contract for being instructor, there is a difference from accauntant slave contract as contract will become void when he reaches a certain level of stenght, plus he needs protection, money and free teaching of Dragon Fist, while the wage was 2 taels of silver I think the actual benefits add up to 7 taels of silver all this for a lesson every week, 7000 coins vs 500 from slave contract. Further on, his strenght and mastery of Five Birds Hand is recognized and he becomes a little more respected, not sure if this is the right place to drop the novel, to me it seems like there will be places that more worthy of dropping the novel. At some point, it feels like author got some inspiration Lord of Mysteries, but the execution is lacking, a quite few places that are overly mystified as if trying to keep readers in suspense then MC solves the mysteries resulting in some king of satisfaction for readers as world setting becomes clearer, Mysterious enemies among humans, Mysterious outside enemies like demons that threaten humanity, Mysterious technology, Mysterious relatives and so on. In reality execution becomes an information dump resulting in a few very boring and tedious chapters I would say this is my biggest concern, better authors mastered the skill of keeping the readers interested, be it good balance of fights and explanation of world setting or sprinkling just enough novelty as to make the readers binge and wait for new chapters, while here this flow is broken from time to time resulting in some fructration. Redeeming qualities would be interesting abilities, second Bodhi tree will support MC in mastering 100% of the skill which is rare in itself at his small city level most stop at 65%, so 100% makes his foundation stronger closer to that of geniuses from big forces plus special effect from first Bodhi gives his that extra advantage. Fourth big realm requires special method that are in hands of big forces here MC is forced to create his own path, which is still unclear in the raws, but maybe it will something interesting, plust help from his cheat makes is possible. A few good side charaters, while most of them try to exploit weaker people at every opportunity and no care for their lives, at first withing his newbie village then people from prefecture look down upon his small village, as novel progresses the reason becomes clearer and is pretty reasonable. For now I will keep reading and see how the novel continues to develop, but chapters are small and rating in China are lackluster, so future is uncertain

Fair enough, different opinions and taste does not mean someone is right or wrong, if MC was just using his cheat to be OP and domineering it would be a nice read to see new abilities and how he develops, like seeing the new pokemons. As the story is created by people there may be some sort of subconscious support of own nation, but in case of Chinese novels often it feels over-the-top where chinese people are righteous, saving the world and doing only what is right while foreigners are more often portrayed with villain qualities, the whole thing gives me the vibe of brainwashing, not just this novel, but in general there is a certain support for novels that praise the china, often badly written novels have good rating just because of this. After finding out about this while thing I become more sensitive and thoughtful whatever this is just some nationalism or something exagerated and closer to racism/xenophobic tendencies. Brick is fine, but after a few times it felt too forceful and another way to be funny or add to the wordcount, and it is certainly not strange enough to attract everyone's attention during a life and death battle. Probably the main problem is author trying to force things plus other problems breaks the flow while reading, so there is little enjoyment left. At the moment, I would recommend two great novels, Witch: Accumulate Experience Through The Knight Breathing Technique and Cultivation: Start From Simplifying Martial Arts Techniques. Both so good that I started reading mtl

I bit boring and long-winded, so enjoyment is lost. MTL is worse than average and a lot of meaning is lost. There is a problem with fluctuating numbers, can be from bad mtl, but more likely author messed up. Looks like the work is abandoned as author stopped updating this one and started a new one

My take on Complete Martial Arts Attributes, Top 5 most irritating novels, author does not hesistate to make every interation between MC and other characters infuriting, starting from trying to be funny in a forceful way again and again, one or twice it will make me chuckle, but same cliche becomes unbearable, for example everytime MC does something amazing and characters are looking with amazement he thinks/says "I am not gay", and then usual routine of reacting to this for a few paragraphs. Using a brick as weapon is so out of place that everyone is weirded out and a few paragraphs on how "we should not offend him...", even weird enough to stop an all out war on the battlefield and for characters to make paragraphs of comments on this brick, probably only once it was trully funny in his academy after a fight when MC said "I give my every oponent two horns as a sign of respect" All males are simps when females give them that look they cower in fear... A lot of cringe all other the place The system itself is far from perfect, but if the author would focus only on fast progression most foreign readers will enjoy, but he also has to please his overlords with some racism and Praise the China... Hope someone will leave a few comments about how novel feels at 1000+ On the other hand, this novel gave me appreciation for other authors and how hard it is to make a readable novel. Thanks

Looks like the author gave up on this novel or just rare updates, still with such release rate there are no support from readers, so no money and motivation for autor to continue

Great read for sure, not perfect, but certainly worth the time. Cannot help but compare with Warlock of the Magus World, but there more differences than similarities. MC is quite reasonable in hiding his strenght, avoiding trouble where necessary and also avoiding acting as a hero that saves everyone (saves people only when he is sure that his actions will not attract attention of strong people), while in the same time he is not exactly an anti-hero like WMW MC, closer to an average person willing to help when there is little risk or price. MC bottom line, he is not willing to sacrifice people or use tools that are based on sacrifiicing people spirit an so on. The story is complex, the world is changing and danger is everywhere, there a few clues about high level power: usual Gods domain, Hell, Abyss and a few unique civilizations, in this setting wizards are just strong, for now a level or two below strongest, it could also be that they hide their power or MC is too low level to be in contact to such secrets. It is quite interesting to see how MC develops his Knight Breathing Technique with his proficiency panel, spreads it, becomes an unique existence in wizard world or somehow becomes an enemy of top wizards as he is growing and maybe taking wants a part of top resources. Those top powers are also closer to ordinary humans in their nature as their element (fire, thunder) may affect their temper plus gods that may derive strenghts from negative domains such as death, rage, madness and so on. A few conflicting moments, but author made a notes in next chapters that previous chapter was slightly modified, just that those chapters were not updated on those websites that are not qidian, other times author explained the train of thought of MC and why some decision were made even if they seem stange at times, which mostly resolved doubts and made me consider MC perspective. For now, no romance and harem, which is a good thing. At some point chapters become much longers, in terms of word count it can be compared with 500-600 chapters while having only 290+, faitly consistent releases and high number of votes in China, so it will not be sacked for not reason. Overall good novel in this Sword And Magic genre, best ones are probably Warlock of the Magus World and Throne of Magical Arcana. If you know similar novel please suggest in the comments

Went through mtl, and it is a pretty good novel, even solid I would say, without glaring weakness or moments that are annoying/illogical, maybe repeating some info a few extra times than needed, but if you read one or two chapters a day it will be a reminder, a good balance between fights where MC wins easily and struggles to survive. Mc cultivation progress is extremly fast compared with people in his area, but he is reasonable enough to hide his strength and careful to avoid greed from much stronger cultivators. MC also does not forget characters that were friends from the start, there a few lines about them even in last few chapters, which is nice. The help from the panel/his cheat system is not outrageous, making him extremly strong in the same small realm, very rarely fighting across small realms as cultivation progresses, but only winning due to strong weapon or enemy being injured. The raitings in China are also good, so it is unlikly for the author to abandon the novel. Certainly best in this cycle and maybe last few months as well. Worth a try for sure

This novel is just ok, average Intellect is quite low not as horrible as Complete Martial Arts Attributes, but still annoying at times. Biggest problem is release rate, in march 2023 author released only 8 chapters, so chinese readers will not support the novel, meaning this novel can be abandoned at any point

As people mentioned translation/editing is lacking is some places, but few mentioned that novel is not on qidian anymore, from what I found latest chapter was around 100-110 in january

Our expectations should not be too high, novel centers around face slapping and low level at that, creating moronic and unlikable enemies that are begging for some sort of conflict, finally they get slapped and readers get the satisfaction as someone got what they deserved.

Mediocre at best, seems like a newbie writer Short chapters with little or useless information which makes them boring, chapters 26-35 can be shortened and edited to 1 or 2 chapters. Cheat could be explained better and the whole cultivation system is still unclear, until now talents were only people from influencial families that received lots of resources. MC seems gutsy or ignorant, being so weak, but acting all mighty with fmc that is a few major realms higher. Usual face slapping, but done in a poor manner, starting from mc being uderstimated and badmouthed then he does something amazing and everyone is shocked to the core, but still continue to look down on him and hope that he will fail...

Indeed the best novel in this cycle, there are a few places with weird wording, but overall it is readable. At the moment it looks like a slice of life of an immortal, which is observing, learning, becoming stronger with everything at hand, seems pretty reasonable as it is simply not required to take risks, did not look at mtl, but we can expects MC to be forced to act

Very nice to see Er Gen new novel, but it is saddening to see how webnovel divides the chapters in two or three parts, just in this case the chapter 19 corresponds with 10 in raws.

Finished 108 chapters Quite average, becomes boring pretty quicly. Most of the chapters are useless chatter/reactions of random characters, MC gathers strenght to create miracles and then waste half of the chapters on reation on how amazing he is, plus a bit of chinese humor between MC and pets, at this point it becomes annoying. Translation: across 108 it is alright, but still a few bits of mtl such as different translation for for certain skills like profundity as obscure, the name of character with surname Bai is translated as White, a few times of weird editing. People even left comments for that chapter still zero effort to correct any mistake...

Quite a good novel, nothing amazing in terms of character developement both main and side, but also did not experience feeling of being annoyed by writting, for example artificially making MC smart by making other characters stupid, dragging the novel by repeating everything a few times. A little fast paced, reasonable enemy making situations even if there is the cliche of killing someone then faction behind and then bigger faction. The sect of MC is supporting, even with his rate of improvement they are not greedy, but just trying to cultivate a stronger next generation that will inherit and protect the sect. Again nothing too amazing, but stable and good enough to read the mtl and wait to next chapters. Unfortunately, the last chapter was released on 30.05.22 and without any explanation on 20.06.22 author released anouncement of a new novel, so we can assume it was dropped, due to unsatisfactory ratings. This author has four works and the longest is barely other over 200 chapters, so from the start expectations should not be high.

Pushed through mtl and indeed quite cliche and repetitive, as comment from Dosa96 described one arc of saving end and then straight away the next one starts. This exact transition is done poorly. Other characters are not developed at all just passing bye or some stupid enemy causes trouble is killed and then his backing comes to get killed. Ending was very rushed, mc got a power-up and solved everything... However, for those that serach for a story with fast strenght gain and where mc destroys everything in his way to gain this strenght you found the right novel
