If you've watched/read Naruto then you know it's a messed up world with child soldiers who start killing at an age as early as seven. Edmund grew up with the mind of a shinobi. So for him, doing some things that are wrong is alright, such as killing, if it is a means to an end. Yes, it's a crime but, he's a child assassin. He'll kill if he has to.
