Jmitch1: Defects, huh? I can't wait to see how they turn out.Kingdom's Bloodline · C571
Du00: Think the king told him to give the defects to the princes. Some sort of lesson?Kingdom's Bloodline · C571
Feliprins: So that's what it is... well atleast he got the right prince to throw the defects at... he's used to it at this point, when was the last time he met someone normal?Kingdom's Bloodline · C571
readingreading: I know it's part of the story, but I'm starting to really hate how much Thales is pushed and pulled. They want him to be exactly in the middle: brilliant but not overly so. They want him to perform, but only in the way they desire. They box him in yet somehow expect him to get things done. Then they blame him for things that happen that aren't totally in his control! All this talk about wiping his a** when he is literally just 13 with practically no support. I forget which chapter, but didn't Kessel say something like being disappointed in Thales' progress? He grew quickly, but it was either too much or too little. He grew too rapidly to be controlled, but not enough to take over or something?Kingdom's Bloodline · C570
fang5757: Rapheal really holding a grudge from last chapter.Kingdom's Bloodline · C570
Feliprins: Finally we get to see Thales being himself again... took its damn timeKingdom's Bloodline · C570
Jmitch1: I was both nervous and expecting something different from the title.Kingdom's Bloodline · C569
Feliprins: This author writing so good that even titles get you on edgeKingdom's Bloodline · C569
Owlsystem: Yes, taurus was the first mistic, that means he becomes mistic first, thats allKingdom's Bloodline · C539
Stupidcat: I really wonder how I would have read this chapter if I read it before the whole "theology" lesson ...Kingdom's Bloodline · C539
zokimi: So Kessel might have been spared because he was so carefree...?
He seemed to have no desire to sit on the throne, or even considered it.Kingdom's Bloodline · C459
Prithviraj024: Damn, I laughed my guts out when Aida revealed to Connie, why his elder brother Kel is under house arrest. It's not about the subject but it is about the way it was spoken. The story so far that I've read, has been revolving around conspiracies, threats, fights and all other kind of serious matters. This is probably the first chapter that introduced humour and not just any kind of but, something light and funny. I really loved this chapter. One of my favourite chapters in this Novel.Kingdom's Bloodline · C459
ryner8virgo: Who is that guy?! Who'd have thought that The Iron Hand King had that side of him. That he's not actually all that heartless and serious. It's quite a challenge to reconcile that childish youth to the one Thales met in the Renaissance Palace.Kingdom's Bloodline · C459
ryner8virgo: After reading all the side stories (1-6.2), we kind of obtain some clues into the major events in this novel. For instance, the truth behind the Bloody Year. I'm guessing that the person who supported Zakriel is none other than...the crown prince, Prince Midier. The first suspect would always be Horace since he seemed to have all the motives, he seemed to be the violent type and he's not in the palace then. But Zakriel did not obey and follow him. Zakriel served Midier. And Kessel was spared. Horace and the other princes either wanted to get rid of Kessel or did not care about him. Though we're not so sure of Herman but it's kind of unlikely (just gut feel). Bancroft is a possible candidate as he did not really care so much but pretty sure he'd kill Kessel as well if given the chance. As for Constance, Aida would've known. And if Kessel did it, he would not had killed Midier. That leaves us to the eldest prince whom almost everyone adored. I believe he's the only one capable of making the righteous Knight of Judgment betray his oath, his king, and his comrades. It's far too early to conclude his reasons but that last line - him wishing for that morning to stay forever yet he had to go back to reality and face his shackles in which he could not break free - just sounded so ominous and suggestive.Kingdom's Bloodline · C459
Protonmaster: can some one tell me which war these guys fought in again? I forgotKingdom's Bloodline · C0
cabox1998: So Chara caused Kaplan's death so he and Midier became enemies and not for a woman as the Eckstetdian said.Kingdom's Bloodline · C0
cabox1998: interesting then the Origin of the vampires had this story I wonder who Mede was.Kingdom's Bloodline · C0
Enrier: What is happening here though, is just politics. Nothing more...
Even if they were to listen to Thales, the chances of them just saying “To hell with it, let’s do it!” is near zero. Main reason being is the backlash that would result in doing so. Unless it’s done slowly over a course of decades and in a way that wouldn’t be found right away. There is a 9/10 chance that it will result in a revolution by the ones that don’t want to give up the power.Kingdom's Bloodline · C566
Aby55: Yeah you are right about him not speaking out. His father is his biggest mental blockKingdom's Bloodline · C566
Feliprins1: Well but let us remember that enforcing modern military reforms without the same administrative and socioeconomic environment will most likely lead to not small conflicts...
In our world the nobles were pretty poor due to the lack of manufactures in their possession along with an increase in the population of the burguase and the spread of more professional mercenaries which could stomp most noble armies at anytime (thank the swiss).
Anyway it takes time to centralise power, land, money and the military. Among those (which are all sensitive issues for nobles) you can argue that the military right of each nobles is one of the most fundamental.Kingdom's Bloodline · C566
Feliprins1: I think that due to his inconsistent memories he has not gotten his whole formative years memories back, just glimpses of his education and relationship of the past, which makes him a very informed adolescent which suffered some quite traumatic stuff...
It's not easy going from beggar to king, it comes even from the most basic aspects such as priorities, confidence, desires and ambitions, expectations and the abuse which hampers his view of self value and victim mentality leading him into more a reactive character than proactive one... unless forced or ordered he won't take the lead, he seeks to find comfort in more secure environments.
The fact that he still sleeps on the ground, or maintains the JC dagger as his weapon of choice all along show he even if his environment changed he still keeps his identity as a orphan and beggar, just a better educated, more skilled one...Kingdom's Bloodline · C566
