"She appears to be very sure of herself, and her capabilities. As if she is not surrounded on all sides by Duke Burn and Duke Ryder's allies. It goes without saying that she is daring and has the ability to back it up. Managing to keep control of her land and not marry a noble to do it is no small feet." "Probably double, Sire" Not what he wanted to hear. 'There goes visiting all three villages in one trip.' With the provisions they had brought there would only be enough time to visit Midbury.

"And who are you to say that to me?!" Braydon was unsure just who the man thought he was. If he had been an earl Braydon would have recognised him already, and there was nobody else besides the King of a higher rank than Braydon. Being his knight, insulting Gerald meant a lack of respect for Braydon himself and he was not about to stand for that.

Gerald was right, looking after the two of them was too much like hard work. There were way too many pickpockets for his liking, it did not help that they were by far the most lavishly dressed people in the market by far. Even if neither one of them liked to dress fancily, that was by noble standards. By a common pickpocket's standards they looked like they were dressed in denars, gold denars.
