I was indeed beaten up badly… The injuries in the dream really get reflected into reality, but there's an obvious level of weakening… Trying to move around, he felt his muscles aching a little but was ultimately relieved that he wasn't too affected.

say what you want about MCU jjj but I think his comic adaption is amazing. I can't find the panel but there's a scene where he sits down on Peter's porch and tells him the reason he hates Spiderman. it was because his sons went to war and passed away. jjj never got over this and when he saw Spiderman being called a hero, he couldn't stand the idea that some guy in a mask saves a few people and gets recognised as a hero when his son went to war and died only for nobody to bat an eye.
