CMIIW, But isn't Griffon/Griffin and Gryphon the same thing? the only difference is that Griffin used in US while Gryphon used in UK. now if it's Hippogriff, I can understand but not with Gryphon and Griffin.

because he simply can't. there's an immortal being in Nasuverse, yet none are capable to learn magecraft. it was created by Solomon for humanity to learn Magic, and was designed like that. the best choice of action for MC isn't learning magecraft, but to learn Magic instead. which is almost extinct, so the best moment is in singularity 7, where age of God still existed.

learning Nasuverse Magic is a very slow process, that's because the planet itself lack Mana compared when in the age of God. in fact magus mainly used Od (Odin Force) which is simply just Mana generated from one's body. now the reason why learning magecraft in Nasuverse is a very slow process compared to their more than 1000 magecraft available is because it's very hard. normally, a family would chose their branch of interest such as Alchemy, Astromancy, or even time. then they would spent their entire lifetime to learn as much as they can which is probably only half or if they are smart enough, 2 magecraft. they would then create a magic crest, which contains their entire knowledge and a part of his magic circuit. Then their heir inherited it, instantly learning the knowledge from his father, so he can continue his father research and later on pass it down to his heir. the process keep repeating, and that make an old family stronger compared to new family, since they have a lot knowledge, magic circuit, and magecraft. for example, rin is a genius who possessed 40 Magic circuit, and his tohsaka Magic crest have 30 Magic circuit, that make her better compared to normal/average magus (who possessed 20 Magic circuit) TLDR: learning magecraft take decade, and even if you have unlimited time that's doesn't mean you can used it since you lack Magic circuit.
