Zero_Kiryu_: I wonder well we know that Uncle Jax is waiting for someone just like Argent's mother was waiting for thier father so is it me over thinking that maybe the one Uncle Jax was waiting for had his "...." Wait no way that's not possible as he never confessed I think. Damm i think I have to reread the novel again

Sighgray: I have a guess but I don't want to say it here just in case I'm right. But I really think I'm right. 😅 I remembered reading something about Jaxon. I had to search for the chapter where I read it. And I did find it. 😁

P.S. It's in Ch. 127. 😁

Jannah21: Dear author can I ask whether or not the titles on the chapters have some secret or hidden meaning because I keep trying to connect the happenings in the chapters with the titles but I'm also formulating theories on the story, so care to share a morsel of wisdom?

SchoolPsyched: I’m not sure how I feel about the ending of this chapter. She’s so careful and yet someone happens to see her coming back? I really don’t want things to get more complicated but there will be more eyes on her in the future. Part of me is expecting it to be the ex boyfriend who saw her.

Catchthecat: Reading this chapter makes me realize that I probably would not survive. I'm smart, relatively adaptable, and willing to contribute, but I don't think I could ever simply prioritize one person's life over another unless some had already shown themselves to be a threat. I know Sophie has the benefit of her future knowledge, but without something similar I would just destroy myself trying to survive.

usernope: I had a thought. First impressions can totally warp a person's pov; to the point that they'll subconsciously twist what they see, to match what they previously saw. So, I'm wondering if Mr.Doctor (ex, as opposed to Mr. Grandpa Doctor) meeting Sophie in these circumstances, will leave him with the impression of; young, fragile, family oriented, delicate but determined. Vs, her last lifetime when she was undoubtedly capable and looking after HIM. In terms of being more capable as things progressed. I mean, there's even a she's young and has a clue about medicine... just like I am/was going on too.

Which is sad, cause I always tend to hate the ex for being an easily duped fool. Might not be able to now. As Sophie looks to be starting her own community away from the hellscape; with medical help(docs and nurses), those strong enough to farm, build, those older and wise to mentor. Competing civilization based on what's practical for sucessful survival (a village where everyone has a role) , vs little fiefdoms. Lord of the Flies was initially intended as a criticism of certain upbringing focusing on selfish power gains over-riding community.

CCmei: Typically I'd agree but Sophie is much rougher, tougher, and immediately makes it clear she's a dominant sort of person in this life. In the last she really was sweet and delicate, and that's how she was when they first met. This time not only is her appearance much different (short hair, military khaki pants and strong enough to fight snakes vs a more fashionable and typically attractive college girl ) but how she presents herself and treated him.
Humans tend to like mirroring, they also tend build interest in people who are interested in them. Previous Sophie gave out the "I like you" vibes first to initiate.

EX bf definitely has a different impression, and who knows what it will build to, but he's not as attracted to this Sophie as he was to the last 21 year old Sophie.

On the topic of Lord of the Flies, it would have been an entirely different book if we replaced the demographic of the characters. What if it were a girl's school, or a lower socio-economic group, or a different race/culture. I love these what if ideas, It's true how dynamics would change. Instead of prep choir boys we get a lot more types here, the exploration. We will just have to see how this battle goes

dannysaid: You know I got dragged into that K-pop world (still enjoy it 'to this day'). It took me like a week to realize that although amazing , it is also extremely unrealistic to want someone like what you see in K-dramas/K-Pop videos. It's a whole new world when you see someone speaking in half-baked Korean, calling dudes oppa. It's crazily creepy my dude.

CCmei: Thanks for the comment! (and reading in general) To explain a little Sophie is banking on the first few days of people being too shocked/confused to pay much attention to them. The palm grove they're camping in rn is mostly covered in leaves but hey you're right spies could be anywhere. That's why she's only climbing palm trees at dawn :P But there are certain things she doesn't mind showing, like a long subtle powerplay game of chess.

dannysaid: Great great great. Amazing story. Just a little worried about them doing everything out in the open. This will make it more likely for others to pay attention to them and/or question them.

CCmei: It's actually just a compound in the oil that gives people stomach ache and diarrhea. Unless you drink a lot of old coconuts or are very dehydrated like some of the passengers in my story, you should be fine. Unless it's going rancid. My family is half from a tropical country too, we like using the meat for cooking, both sweet and savory stew dishes. The not so fresh milk is alright for cooking/braising too.

CCmei: She does buy a satellite phone in a later chapter, just in case. She just doesn't know how much help it will be since the island was kind of a dead zone that the plane's radio and transmission signals couldn't properly go through.
There are areas of the ocean that even patrolling ships avoid, not to mention fishing boats or recreationals. There's something about them. I based the island off those much avoided mysterious dead zones/triangles.

Queen of the Castaway Isle · C3

CallOfTheWild: I researched on this stuff about satphone etc. Well, according to the internet, when a plane disappears, or goes off grid or crashes, the station wherever they left or landing should have received information regarding the last set of coordinates the plane had, and considering that only the engines of the plane had problems, then the com of the plane should have worked. So considering all of this, it is fairly reasonable to suggest that for some unknown reason, the satphone wouldn't work on this unmapped island. Makes me think of like the Bermuda Triangle, where they would know the general area of the map where you disappeared, but wouldn't be able to find you.

This is all just my personal speculation though, who knows what the writer was thinking.

wanderer_of_novels: Why wouldn't she just bring a satellite phone? or a massive flare in case a ship passes by. couldn't she drop the flight, wait till everyone knows they're missing and find the island?

MrSilverSnow: Ok this makes me feel a lot better about this situation! Also I’m glad to see the FL didn’t sweep everything under the rug. I love that she’s starting to wake up from the fantasy and has realized that just like in her old life you can’t just trust people right away. I’m loving the character development so much!!! It’s so cool to watch a character go from believing everything is a game to realizing this is real life now and she needs to grow up!

yaoyueyi: [AUTHOR'S THOUGHT-- PLEASE READ]

Alright, so as I mentioned in the author's thought, I don't have enough space to write what I need, so I'm going to post my thoughts here! This will not happen every update & only once a while when I feel the need to address a misunderstanding.

Last week, a great reader pointed out that Hui'er's regret does not atone for what she did. I 100% agree. I never intended to make her seem like a "good" person. No one in this story is a "good" person-- not even our FL herself. I don't believe that Hui'er's response to the entire situation lets her be not held accountable for this situation. This isn't a situation where I'm just like, "Oh, yeah, everything is all good now" because it's not.

So, I just wanted to address this situation because I think that some people might be under the idea that I am portraying Hui'er as a innocent/doesn't deserve to hurt for her crimes/very good and pure person, and I am not. Personally, I think that whether or not Hui'er is perceived as good or bad, innocent or evil, entirely depends on the opinion/perspective of the readers. As you can see from this newest chapter, Yujia isn't just going to blindly trust her 100% either since her character has developed (so while she might have done so in the beginning of the story, she's not here). Her decision to forgive Hui'er doesn't necessarily mean that she'll trust her completely either.

All in all, I just wanted to address and clear up this situation. Hope you all are enjoying the read so far! :)

sakura90: Totally agree. She had the choice not to do it. Even the option to tell the First Miss what was happening. But she chose to poison the baby. And it was for a long time, during the whole pregnancy. It means, she even have the time to discontinue doing it but she did not. Her resolution to poison the baby until birth was apparent.

Queenie360: Making any number of justifications is easy, but the end result is that an unborn child is dead, and that too due to the conscious decision of that maid. In every sense of moral ethics, that is a wrong. It is unfortunate that the maid was separated from her family, but killing another in order to reunite with them does not make her actions okay, and they shouldn’t be viewed with rose-tinted glasses.
