HX may have asked for something similar before, and ask for a reference point on how much 1 HP is (that Pugilist player has 3000 HP, use that as a reference after beating him to death). It just makes it much easier to communicate with the Players that way (and won't give himself away too much) View More

Ehh whatever, I’ll give it a pass.

"You've activated my Trump Card! I summon my demon scouts with an explosive power of 2500 in defence mode! Your Black star advent only lasts for three turns! Time's running out Frenzie!"
Frenzied Sword spun on the spot, pointing a single finger towards his opponent-
"Three turns is more than enough time to defeat you- for what you didn't realise is that my [Black Star's Advent] has a special ability!"
"A special ability?! Impossible!"
"In the face of unbalanced abilities that go against good game design, Black Star Advent unleashes unprecedented strength, watch as it demolishes your Demon Scouts!"

Hentai_kun: Can't he just write China#1 and end this boring arc ?

I can understand the e sport aspect in a game novel but here it's just a filler (the MC isn't a player) , the author didn't develop enough the players in Han Xiao's team for it to be interesting.

The only interest is that it would increase Han Xiao's reputation and attract more players to him so this competition doesn't need to last more than 1 or 2 chapters.

Why would it be risky for HX to simply have the 7th gen.virus be left in the Bead that was delivered tp Godora? He even could've had the Dragon Guards deliver it directly to Godora. It seems the way HX did it is more risky, since now he would have to explain where he got the Virus when he delivers it a year after the Bead incident. It more 0seems like he just wants mission progress View More

I was thinking the same. Though, making the "impossible possible" will probably be because he knows about True Magic and Mana Cores, and it really is impossible to control small insects without that knowledge View More

But Han Xiao is so obviously an unique case among NPCs, so why would mentioning him be a cop out? So it's okay for you to say: "Han Xiao can see stats of items and is an NPC, so I don't see why not" and use that as an argument, but not for me to mention HX is an unique case that has access to an interface and gains missions which we've never seen any indication any of the other NPCs have?

Stonex159: If you wanna know then ask the author. No one knows those answers yet. But considering that Han Xiao is now an NPC I don't see why they couldn't. And don't say Han Xiao is a unique case, that's just a cop out. Stop wasting your time and mine with pointless debates.

Are you sure about that? Can the npcs see the stats of an item? Or do they gain stats like a player does for wearing them? View More

Stonex159: I don't think you understand the concept of RPGs and the fact that this world is a GAME world. For them these RPG mechanics are as REAL to them and Quantum Mechanics is to us. Your just purposely forcing logic that makes no sense given the narrative and facts laid out before you.

I think the argument: "Read something not fantasy if you want it to be realistic" is a bad argument. In a fantasy world with magic and technology beyond ours, we can still expect there to be some semblance of realism, just within that universe's laws. And in that universe, the people themselves train and become stronger, break through limits etc. and use weapons and technology to assist them fighting. But it seems like whatever System the Players are linked to, somehow strengthens the players when wearing certain things, like receiving an overall boost to strength from wearing a specific pair of leggings (unless I've misinterpreted it, and it's just a rough estimate of how much harder you can kick when wearing those pants) which seems to go against that universe's principles (at least in my understanding of it). If the Str boost on certain items are only for the convenience of the player and they don't actually boost their attributes when wearing them, but they are only there in order for them to compare it to other items, then I don't really mind it. View More

Stonex159: Not so much realism, more so realistic physics, cause and effect, and npc relations/intellect. It has game elements because that is this story's genre and a fundamental part of this story's universe. If you want a realistic story, read something that isn't fantasy or fiction. That's the most "real" you can get.

Thank you for the explanation, it does make some sense yeah.
Though, as a pianist myself, it's not really a completely different experience to play with your eyes closed, not after you've been playing for some time. And in this analogy with magic, Lith already should've been playing piano for some time, even if he always had his eyes open and now has to close them View More

MasterHaug: It is like playing piano with your eyes closed, it is completely diferent experience.
Lith was used to see where the mana was flowing and having it obey his imagination, like moving your arm in front of you.
When someone executes fake magic, is like instead of moving it with your mind you are using a gigantic keyboard that is all black without identification on the pieces. You can remember ceirtain combos, but all in all you have no idea what you are doing, and magical sensitivity is like an intuition to what buttons you are tiping. Makes sense? I can explain in another way if needed.

Supreme Magus · C191

Thank you for your response, it was a good one. So it's almost like a "sixth sense" the others who can't see magic and command it like Lith, has developed over the years? I'm still not entirely sold on it, but maybe I should just let it go, since the Author obviously knows how magic in this novel works better than I do View More

Venalitor: We already know Lith isn't talented and has relied on his ability to lay the information out before himself and extrapolate as well as Solus's support to achieve what he has. His friends (getting there) are talented and can't rely on the information readout that is Invigoration. They actually have to interpret some things they see, hence why they have higher mana sensitivity.
They cannot simply command it, Lith can, so Lith doesn't understand it as well while having a more in depth comprehension.
There's also a bit about fake magic being a training regime for true magic. I can't quite remember when that came up, but Lith did spend a lot of time dismissing fake magic and what he could learn from it, thus limiting he progress in some aspects.

On paper yeah (and perhaps not even then, we heard of the "higher dimension" theory, and the game's realism is quite suspicious)
I just prefer it when the world functions as a world, but simply with "alien invaders" (the players). I think game-like items sacrifices realism for gaming-convenience, but I don't think this "game world" should do the same, since even much of the reason for the game's popularity is its realism. But how can sensitivity be low for someone who can see and direct it? And someone who has studied mana and knows way more about it than any of the other kids? Beasts all use True Magic as well, does that mean their sensitivity is low? And when did all the other kids train sensitivity? At least those not Healers or Forgemasters?
Well, maybe you're right, and I just don't properly understand it, even though the reason has already been explained. Maybe I'm also attributing too much of magical talent to the grade of ones Mana Core, and there's a lot more nuance to fake magic than I think there is, and not simply who can best memorize and who has the highest quality Core (though I do believe all those we've seen who are "talented" and strong, also have very high level cores, perhaps feeding into my misconception) View More

MasterHaug: It is simple really. Lith can't use true magic in the school. He needs to use fake magic like everybody else. When he could use true magic he curbstomped a squad of the best mages fake magic can offer(the Talons). He never trained magic sensitivity until now because he could just see magic and direct it. None of his classmates would have a chance if he went full out, but he is restrained by the school.

It feels like the Author is trying hard not to make the other kids irrelevant, and have them somehow be better than Lith in some things. That's probably a good thing story-wise, but it feels a bit forced to me personally in the things they are better in (I'm fine with a Warden being better at Warden spells, or them being better at Alchemy or things like that, but them being better at Dimensional magic feels a bit forced). His "lack of sensitivity" is something I still can't really understand. The other kids are fake mages, merely learning the words and signs to cast spells. He however, has since 0 years of age created spells himself and even seen, felt and improved his core. Heck, his evolution in the Academy forest even gave him something like Mana-sight iirc. All this, yet some kids have better sensitivity and are better at dim. magic than him? It would make sense if sensitivity was something you're born with and can't be improved, but that's not the case, and I don't understand why they're better than someone who Self-Awakened and has abomination and beast characteristics as well, two beings who are more naturally in tune with mana than humans.
I think it was mentioned how Quylla uses her sensitivity when treating patients, and that's why hers is so high, fair enough, but what about all the other kids in class? It sounds like Lith only passed this class due to hard work, but how can he be below in sensitivity to those not healers, and especially the lazy nobles? View More

Athomico: I like that Lith isn't OP and we see him struggling, but I'm confused on how long will take for him to adapt the fake magic to true magic, since is dependent of the user imagination. Well I'll problably need to re-read the history with more caution on the mage explanation stuff.

Could be a cover, but you could very well be right. I had forgotten her backstory of how the nobles treated her, but at the very least I think she's hiding something (though that something could be being a True Mage as Lith and Solus is currently suspecting) View More

Feliprins1: I mean, of all teachers isnt she one with a fearsome grudge against nobles? Seems farfetched for her to be the traitor... the same as the battle trainer who was a commoner adventurer.
