Totally random comment here but I just realised that the way you described alteration working with the new mindset was very similar to how dragon language works in Skyrim since they are basically imposing their will on reality with the words of power

(A/N: In case you do not remember, the septims here are not all just worth 1 gold. There are marked with various amounts like 5, 10, 20, 50, 100. I thought this would make sense because carrying around 1000 large coins for shopping would be ridiculous to me.)

My thought was along the lines of like chlorophyll it is triggered by the sun and the move growth which is basically a two stage boost in sunlight

What a time to be alive! I can make good old Skyrim into some Korean MMO if I wanted to. But there is an unwritten rule when it comes to modding Skyrim, it is "Before looks, comes immersion". That is what our Lord and Savior 'The Immersive Lord MxR' taught us.
