Rarely get so annoyed by a book, but only pure will got me through it. It has a nice start but it eventually felt like all the chapters I read where for nothing. Everything goes wrong, and the FL couldn't be more... "unlucky ", "pitiful", amd overall all bad things that could happen to her... End up happening to her, you really can't help but feel annoyed by it. While the ML makes you feel sorry for him, he has to go through so much, just to be with a shallow, immature and abussive partner, really makes you question if it's really love or they're just being stubborn for the sake of it. The whole book is a mess, filled with unfinished plotlines, half built, immature characters, massive plot holes, unfinished and lazy written explanations,etc. Felt like I was missing some vital info throughout the whole book, if I was missing something or needed to read another whole book to understand some of the characters backgrounds which was really annoying, not even sure if this is a series or a stand-alone because some characters which we only saw once were giving too many details on, which made the book give that unfinished feel to it. Basically, the whole book is just a story that did not end up happening, a whole flashback, where only the last 50 or so chapters matter, if you even make it that far. There is no redemption, no closure, not a real ending or beginning, a lot of not important things are explained, while some vital ones were not, some plots. were just dropped into the story without warning, only for you to feel angst for one chapter, before that whole plot is scrapped and were supposed to be ok with it and move on like they did not happen. I'm a fan of weak to strong, rebirth, mistery and a lot of things that the book has, but while you're reading it, you can only wish the author stuck to one and make a decent story out of it. I'm aware this is an old book, and maybe one of their first attempts at writing, which made me give it a shot and finish it all but, it was too much of a hasle for the little reward we got with the later chapters. Might browse the other books the author has, just to check if I can find the missing pieces from this book, some other reviews state that the author improved from this once so it might be worth a shot as overall the book had so much potential but be a real masterpiece.

OK I usually don't reply to reviews but this review really triggers me, like, are you really reading the book? 1st of all, the whole rape thing wasn't even the FLs fault, she just happened to be there when her enemy got into that whole situation, she recorded for evidence, in case the enemy dare to act against the FL again, which she never used neither cared about . The main point of that story was more like karma than the FL getting revenge on her enemy because it was the enemy's friends that schemed against her. 2nd of all, the FL was a killer herself in her previous life, and she admits herself as not being a "good person", so why are you suddenly surprised or upset that she doesn't care when bad things happen to her enemies. Her whole rebirt is based on her getting revenge on her own father, bf and sister. Now the FL and ML interaction is limited as she is doing her own thing and he is as well, I much prefer a MC with own lives than either a FL that has only the ML in it, as well as a ML that drops everything to save the FL everytime. All in all I get the book is not your cup of tea but not understanding that different cultures have different values, or what you are reading, really baffles me. This is a culture of payback as you can read from a lot of books, and at least they all show that people can get even in whiever way they want, as long as they are in the wrong they won't get empathy, same as if you're right, doesn't matter how cruel you are when getting even.

Loved this book from the first page til the last one. Although it is not a perfect book, is close to it, the MCs have no real misunderstandings, they don't hate each other, the ML is actually not an ass to the FL and they are all very smart. The book heavily centers a lot in dialogs and thoughts, but due to this, the chars take action really quickly when it comes to the actual plot, making the book feel very fast paced. A huge part of it, is about only the two leads, how they overcome the obstacles, fall in love and defeat all enemies, with sprinkles of the sides characters, which is cool as you want to know what happens to the lead but can leave some side stories hanging for a long time, nothing too serious, but don't expect a lot of development on them. The enemies in this book are hard to describe, the MCs can be described as ruthless and "evil" they rarely leave enemies a way out, eliminating the treaths from the root to the best of their abilities. The FL is very smart, cunning, funny, narcissistic, strong, etc, but not allmighty which gives a sense of credibility as she is very young at the start of the book and is imposible to be allmighty. This is very different from other OP FL where is all about removing the vests, and more of a "weak" to strong type of FL where she is almost the villain of the story, "yes I'm bad so what can you do about it?" type of vibe. The ML is the ruthless, super smart, cold CEO forced to marry, but he actually treats his marriage seriously, he is the one choosing his wife which at the beginning even tho he believes he wants a cute, little obedient wife, he's extremely smart and quickly realizes that his wife is not all that he thought he wanted but finds himself liking her even more, wanting to discover more, trusting her with just one look and wanting nothing but spoil her more. Without too many spoilers the book is great, it only lacks in a few details towards the end or how the problems are solved, which makes me believe either it was intended the couple to be super lucky as things just work, or lazy writing.

This is a book that I loved and enjoyed reading but not exactly for the things it tried to sell from the intro. My favorite thing I must say, hands down, has to be the 2nd lead couple (D&M). They are everything I wished the Main Couple had, but at the same time it made me appreciate the differences between them. This is not a super complicated plot, the things that you expect to happen will actually not happen and they can be underwhelming (enemies/antagonists) but also fresh, sweet and enjoyable (side characters and romance overall). Must admit the book doesn't have a 100% coherence, but not as big as to have plot holes, just rough edges which on its own makes it a unique type of book. A bit disappointed with the tags on the book as whole enemy to lovers thing is pretty much not there, is like a day thing neither weak to strong as the FL completely stagnates and becomes almost hollowed kinda just there to love the ML ( one of the reasons I loved the 2nd couple so much more). Some characters will have dept while others are just there for one purpose and completely forgotten or removed after their "purpose" is served, which can be a bit weird, but removed many extra chars and "issues" the couple must overcome. Overall is a really sweet, romantic and sexy book, read it in 2 days and I would recommend it to someone looking for a short cool book.

If webnovel could please stop recommending me this plagiarized book and just link me the original, that would be lovely. From sidekick to bigshot is the one people should look up when recommended of this one. Trust me that one is legit amazing

In regards to the number 2, is not necessarily that she's cold to the ML, but that the translation is very censored, so most of the hugs, flirting, later on kisses, etc, are ommited making the interaction between them really odd. .
