Talking about the author's note, Esme was Aleister's even before Jeremiah came into the picture and it makes the second engagement null. I doubt it was done formally. Secondly, even if it was not, Jeremiah gaslighted Esme countless times. Sorry, he is gentle and all that but I don't like him or anyone in Norwell family (except Lucy) cause they almost made Esme go into split-personality mode by all the lies they fed her. Jeremiah also low-key thought that Esme was not enough to be sent to heaven so no, I don't like him but I also don't support infidelity. But I don't think there was cheating anywhere in the picture here. Esme rejected Aleister's advances when she did not have memories. All along, with or without memories, by her heart, body, and soul, she remained loyal to Aleister, her first legit fiance so yes

It feels so good to hear Adrian calling Esme 'my princess' after such a long time. This doting brother he is😌😍🥰 Ruby and Adrian are so smokin' hoooootttt together🔥🔥🔥💥💥💥💥 And I so badly wish that both Ruby and Adrian's bed friendship turns into something more. I was low-key shipping them when Ruby brought him to heaven. Also, dear author, replying to your author's note, none of the characters in this book feel like side characters to me. Ruby has always been the hot and happening character. I low-key kept simping over Adrian all the time. Let's not mention his silver hair🔥🔥 Cardan has an anti-hero thing going on and I love the way Lucy puts him in his place🔥🔥 Al and Es. Need I speak about these two? Leo is a main character in himself. And even Marilyn, she is an antagonist strong enough to make me hate her and sympathize with her in the same breath

I want a redemption arc for them. Both of them have a nice side to themselves. Back when the love of my life(AI) was alive😭😭... there was a brief brotherly interaction between Al and Cardan. It was cute. He will be a better person if he broke away from his mother who is using him like a puppet

But I think Luciana has already redeemed herself by being a genuine friend to be Esme and she is somehow cute now, unlike how snobby she used to be in past. I like her. As for Cardan..ahem. he is hot. But that apart, I badly want him to redeem himself😭 Both of them were just pawns of circumstances. I think they are not that bad

I get that. modern and historical and all that. But you know, someone who is capable of discussing divorce, is perfectly capable of discussing what he wants ( if she wants to know what he wants). Instead of asking if he wants a divorce, she could have easily asked him what he wants. In the end, everyone has a different POV. People with trauma aren't capable of asking for divorce either(in many books). So, the thing differs. But since Maxi is capable of asking this, she could have asked that. I am not saying she hasn't suffered. I know she did but logic... Whatever, let's drop this. I don't want to argue unnecessarily
