Well, that's just my view. I can't do anything about that. I see both Shane and Lori as redeemable. I thought he was redeemable even up until Rick killed him. He's still unhinged and emotionally dependent on Lori, but deep down, I think he is a good person. So it's not so black and white. It might blow up in the MC's face, but things will be what they be.

It's not that deep. Neither did anything wrong. By all stretch of the imagination, Rick should have died in that hospital. It is honestly a miracle he wasn't killed by soldiers or walkers. And In Shane's shoes, it was almost impossible to save him when the whole place was getting overrun, and the soldiers were shooting on sight. So he was right to believe he was dead. The fact he even tried just speaks volumes about the strength of the relationship that was shared between the two. And as for the whole cheating debacle, again can't really blame either. Shane was reeling from guilt after leaving his best friend to die, unable to save him. And was struggling to deal with the weight of his actions, and Lori needed somebody to take care of her and her grieving child in an apocalypse. So she latched onto Shane, and he latched onto her as a way to keep him going. As for the coldness, I've rationalised it as their marriage was finished even before the zombies. You can say it is AU, but personally, it is strongly alluded to in the show. And besides, that fact, with the MC being a different person from the original Rick, there is a sense of distance. So he hates neither. He still cares for Lori, but just not as strongly. As for forgiveness, it isn't easy. But if Rick could do so in the show, even with the lingering attachment to Lori, then I can see him doing it again easier when there is less emotion involved. I've rambled enough; I hope I've explained myself clearly.

Those were about my thoughts as well. I can think of a lot of material in many episodes that could be skipped over in a few words.

Yeah I was thinking the same. Shane also, emotionally speaking, needs Lori. He is one of the people who has been hit extremely hard by the apocalypse. Without Lori and Carl he was likely to have killed himself in the early days, hence his reaction when he loses Lori and Carl. That was tantamount to losing everything to him. But Lori, isn't as bad as your making out. And she certainly didn't betray Rick, not when it was all but guaranteed he was dead. But their relationship was doomed before the apocalypse anyway. It was already beginning to fall apart and I'd bet she was already having thoughts of being unfaithful before everything.

It was neither's fault. It was a product of circumstance. Shane needed something to keep him going in the new world. And Lori needed someone to comfort and protect her and her child. Especially when they thought Rick was dead, nobody is at fault. But just because rationally nobody is at fault, doesn't mean that emotionally Rick wouldn't be angry at them. Just as in the show he was fuming but at the same time understood and let it go.
