Soon the carriage left town, and it reached Wraithwood in less than ten minutes. Mallory removed her chain and hid it in the corner of the seat before climbing out of the vehicle. She handed one of her earrings to the coachman and slipped out of there.

"Let me help," Hadeon offered politely, before grasping the man's neck and flinging him out of the window.

Hadeon turned to meet her eyes, and he replied, "That's what good skin and hair care does. A routine you should consider starting, I already see frown lines there," he pointed to her forehead. "You don't want your ghost wearing that in the afterlife. Don't worry, there's plenty of aloe vera in the estate."

Emily watched as Logan picked up something from the table, then bent down, pressing a piece of chalk against the ground. Once he started to draw with it, the chalk emitted a grating screech, making her skin crawl. The unpleasant sound persisted until he created a circle.
